Hello Home Cinema department,byebye

I am in the process of redoing my bedroom and it has opened up a large space in my room... perfect for a large TV!

Now I am not really clued up in the area of home entertainment so this is where you come in!

I am on a tight budget but want something of quality and size. However, i feel it's a case of you can have 2 of the three words "Size, Quality and Price".

This to me seems resonable http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154998 but seems about as far as I can really stretch.

What is on the market that will suit me.

Thanks,

Slate.thumbup

Edited to add: It will be used for my PS3 & Sky HD

plenty of people have said they've bought something and from the moment it was installed wish they'd gone slightly bigger, all for the sake of £100 or so - especially as it's something you're likely to keep for a good few years thumbup
Don't tell me this! I am poor!

How highly do you rate your 42G10 - It is for my bedroom which isn't the biggest space in the world but a 42" TV sitting at the end of my bed does sound rather awsome tongue out

Below is a render of where the telly will be going

Sorry hehe

There's a calculation that you can make as to the optimal viewing distance for a given TV size, depending on what resolution you will be watching - in my case I will be watching blu-ray and HD from about 7feet away so a 42" was the correct size to go for. It's all about the viewing distance, rather than the space you have (if you see what I mean), as certain resolutions from too far away will appear not as good.

As for the G10 - proper proper impressed. When I came to choose I simply asked the opinions of Der and Plotloss and went with whatever they said - which was the G10 or, if you have the money, the V10. But that was another £200 on top of the G10 so I went with the G.
Thanks for the info on that calculation - I will be about 8 feet away and looking online it says that either a 42" is best.. which is a shame rolleyes

It looks like that g10 looks like an excellent idea - I think I better save a bit then.. damn HSBC thinking I need to pay of my credit card.
