The DPR is a decent amp, but lacks "current" features like HDMi etc. It's video abilities are limited, but it sounds pretty damn good as an audio device.
If you can get it cheap, you could do a lot worse - it's processing was good for it's day, and those digital amps can drive difficult speakers without many issues.
What timing - I just happened to check if I had any responses to this.If you can get it cheap, you could do a lot worse - it's processing was good for it's day, and those digital amps can drive difficult speakers without many issues.
As it happens, I bought it. Got it for £145.
And I have to agree with your comments, it sounds very good for audio. Just as well I'm not bothered about such things as HDMI etc.
My BD has multichannel on board decoding, and the DPR has 8 channel inputs so no problem there.
Only thing I've noticed is that it appears to buzz (mechanical sound) which sounds like it could be coming from the switch mode PSU(s).
