best 50"ish 3d tv for games

my neighbour is in tears as his new 50" panasonic plasma 3d tv had died within a week and gone back. which is the best 3d tv in your opinions? i thought plasmas werent great for games ( hes a hardcore gamer ) or is that an old view?

yes it was the 3d vt20 - not sure what was wrong he said it had gone all green and snowy will find out later

all panasononic have said was it was " a faulty plasma screen". He reckons the sound was too tinny though so isnt sure whether to replace it

That's a feature of flat televisions, not a lot of space for big speakers you see.

He should be keeping the VT20 as its not only the best 3D television but the best television on the market today full stop and augment it with a good AV amp, a good sub and some speakers.

fair point although am hoping he stays away from a good sub as i live in the flat below!
