I live in Scotland with Sky and I hate STV. I cannot receive STVHD, other than 'live' and am not able to record it: the same with ITV1HD. STV does not show many of the decent programs ITV1 does.

I can record ITV1 but only in SD.

I have decided to move south (as far as Sky are concerned). I want to give them a friend's postcode in England (with the permission of my friend) so my default is ITV1 and not STV. I am of course not actually going anywhwere.

A couple of questions;

1/ will Sky be able to know that I am still here and not living in England (I don't have a phone line connected to my Sky box if that makes any difference).

2/ I assume that I will be still able to watch and record BBC1 Scotland and BBC2 Scotland (in SD) for local news and STV will become like ITV1 is now: watch live only and non-recordable.

Today I have missed a new Lewis in lovely HD because STV is showing some other stupid repeat (again).

How will you get round the fact they will want to charge you to move and reinstall your system a t your new imaginary address and don't you have to have the box plugged into the phone at least for updates?
When I moved here (and to the last place), I installed the system myself. I haven't had a phone line connected for maybe 7+ year now.

I don't want to watch ITV1 HD as an extra channel (I already have it added) because you cannot record it.

Why not tell them you're not actually moving. You are moving your Sky package to your holiday home in England, the one without a telephone line. You don't need a telephone line as you're only there occasionally and use your mobile. That way they can still bill your home address.
Interesting idea.

I know I have asked this question before, but can someone in England check that BBC1 Scot and BBS2 Scot is definitely in the EPG please? Is STV also there, or is it only in 'other channels'?

Thanks.
