Sounds good to me - might even make it to Brooklands this time.
Note to organiser - can we start an hour later please, meeting at 7.00 and departing Docklands at 7.30?
This is not a whinge, it was a very well organised event and huge fun, and Mr Chips did a huge amount of largely unseen work getting it all together, for which I applaud him.
However, for those of us who don't live that close to London, it was a hideously early start, there was a lot of freezing extremities off getting there, followed by a lot of standing around in the station car park in the dark eating bacon sandwiches and stamping feet to keep warm, followed by a fair bit of frustrated queueing on the approach to the Blackball Tunnel because it didn't open until 7 am.
Having got up at 3 am to get to the start well before 6.00, I was then too tired to do Brooklands (danger of falling asleep at the wheel on the long drive home). With a 7 am meet up time, and less time in the station car park, I could have had an extra hour and a half in bed, got up at 4.30, and turned up at around 6.59 am and still been fit to enjoy Brooklands.......

The problem with that early is the everyone is on the road by then. if we are doing a summer run hopefully it will be warmer you could always travel lodge the night before and join up with some of the more local people ? £38 a night near me.Note to organiser - can we start an hour later please, meeting at 7.00 and departing Docklands at 7.30?

Hmmmm.... TRAFFIC. It is best to be early IMO. I have spent many hours queuing to get through the Blackwall tunnel. I'd rather do Thunder in the Tunnels than Steaming Out The Tunnels with an over heating Chim.Note to organiser - can we start an hour later please, meeting at 7.00 and departing Docklands at 7.30?

Point taken......but I am only proposing arriving at the Blackball Tunnel at 7.40, not 6.40***, or 7.10 as it was in reality. - *(By the time the tunnel opened and we actually got to the tunnel mouth with either rather warm engines (left running at a standstill for 20 minutes) or rather cold extremities (engine turned off to avoid overheating), it was 7.10, so i am suggesting getting there say 30 minutes later, but after a much later rendezvous.)

It sounds silly but even on a Sunday morning that hour will make a huge difference to the traffic levels, and it would have been a miserable drive around London.- *(By the time the tunnel opened and we actually got to the tunnel mouth with either rather warm engines (left running at a standstill for 20 minutes) or rather cold extremities (engine turned off to avoid overheating), it was 7.10, so i am suggesting getting there say 30 minutes later, but after a much later rendezvous.)
Also worth pointing out that the tunnel isn't normally closed overnight - iirc there was a breakdown or something on the last run.
This, from www.Londontraffic.org:
Blackwall Tunnel Fixed Closures
Check the traffic feed for any unexpected temporary closures.
Maintenance closures typically take place on Sundays from 12:00am to 9:00am or 10:00am.

Maybe that would have enabled us to have joined the run rather than spend the night in the Premier Inn on the wrong side of the river followed by a two hour tour of the area trying to get across as the tunnel was closed, followed by admitting defeat and driving straight to Brooklands and being there before it even opens!
Surely I must get a prize for being able to be in the capital on the day as one of the largest convoy drives on TVRs and not see another sodding one!
If I miss the next one I'm selling the car and buying a Prius, because thats all I'll deserve!
There are lots of whys in what occurred. We could have joined countless convoys as we had come accross from Somerset. But no, being clever bds we came the night before to be refreshed. unfortunately our London road knowledge was somewhat lacking and the tt nav was being just that! Probably didnt help that I was too tight to buy an A-Z and insisted on stopping at every petrol station to have a quick look at theirs for an update.
The first few TiTTs encountered sufficient challenges with Blackwall Tunnel that it was taken out of the run completely at one point. It no longer features in the London Tunnel runs either, for the very same reason. This was one of the reasons why the double (or even triple) loop of Rotherhithe tunnel was introduced. The two-way system in Rotherhithe provides much more fun than Blackwall anyway

Here here. Start at westferry circus. Two years ago we started there and it eliminated the early issues we encountered last time with blackwall. aide said:
