Indeed - I've got a business trip to Dunkirk in France tomorrow, by chunnel, and very tempted to give the Cerb a bit of a run out....however the weather's not looking so great.... :-(

Poole Tourism tell me that the Quay can accomodate 85 cars.

I've promised that I'll limit the numbers on here to that, as the numbers of dropouts will probably equate to the numbers of extras that people have stated (i.e. the +2s & +1s that are listed).

I'd recommend everyone keeps a close eye to check on the numbers nearer the time. We've still got space for 20 or so more cars, which at the current rate of increase will probably get us to 85 just about the week before the event.

We also have to bear in mind that random members of the public who own TVRs might see the event advertised and turn up. Consequently I've just emailed Poole Tourism to find out if:

a) We can prioritise Quay access to those confirmed attendees on my list, prior to a certain time.
b) Excess cars could perhaps be overflowed to Baiter Park, a short-walk along the quay, thereby meaning random public turn-ups won't get turned away.

..and one more thing. Anyone know who owns the Cerbera Speed 12? I wonder how likely it would be to get this to attend? It would probably need to come in on a trailer due to the speed humps down part of the quay.

Ok everyone, I've had an exchange of emails gathering information from Poole Tourism this week, and here are some early guidelines:

• The event is a public event, so in effect anyone with a TVR can just turn-up.

• Consequently, to be sure of a place on the quay, please arrange to arrive for the start at 6pm.

• Late arrivals aren't guaranteed a place, BUT they do assure me they managed with 120 Porsches on a previous event, so it's likely that we'll be fine.

• If you are running late, it would be advisable to contact me on the night, so I can work with Poole Tourism to ensure you gain access. I will issue my mobile number nearer the event.

• There will be a location in which we will control parking, so the rarer/unique cars can be displayed. I'll submit a post about this shortly. However, we won't be able to deny access to these spaces for other cars if all other spaces are filled, which whilst this is unlikely, I would request that the rare/unique cars arrive as close to 6pm as possible to prevent any difficult situations.

• Everyone else will need to park quickly and where directed to prevent unncessary build up of traffic on the public highway around the quay.

• I propose that in order to help identify ourselves, that in addition to your full names, contact numbers & registration numbers, which I will gather neare the time, that I also create an A4 template including a Pistonheads logo & distribute for placement inside your windscreen, so that all of you guys can be easily identified on arrival.

• Finally, whilst it isn't mandatory, many cars displayed tend to have a laminated history of the car placed inside the windscreen, & specification which the general public can read. If you don't already have one, I'd encourage you to create one!

....just a nugget of an idea....

Wondering if perhaps we could do a Miss Sexy TVR award for the event.

i.e. all attendees and member's of the public who want to enter can do so, and get photographed with the TVR of their choice on the night. Subsequently the photos & details are uploaded and voted upon by all on Facebook / Pistonheads, and the winner is awarded the title Miss Sexy TVR, & given a magnum of Champagne.

If perhaps we also charged £2 per entry, maybe we could offer the winner a TVR trackday?

It wouldn't be too difficult to setup a small stand to advertise on the night, and collect details of entrants, and it might be a good way to encourage lots of feminine participation at our event if we advertise in advance!! :-) Am I being fickle?

End of July stands a marginally better chance than April for being sunny (marginally as I say).....

Added benefit of Poole Quay however, is that if the weather is ste, we can at least retire to one of the many pubs & bars in close proximity - those that are staying at any rate...
