THUNDER IN THE TUNNELS 9!!!!!!!!
Discussion
Nice pics guys - I particularly like the back view tunnel shot, wonderful perspective, the Shard being exactly the same height as a lamp-post (beware art teachers!) and the Australian Tuscan. He had a Ford Essex V6 in that early Tuscan. Bet that shifts! He said he had to get the spare wheel out through the driver's door.

Hello folks. Lovely morning yesterday, and wonderful to see so many Trevors out being used. Some truly gorgeous cars out there as the pics and videos show, so keep them coming.
I know what's involved in putting on a tunnel run, so huge thanks to Qbee for making the effort and all the work involved to organise this , especially as a first timer !! . I hope I was of some assistance/amusement to a few people on the day, even got lost myself getting to Canada Sq, unfortunately with a couple of cars in tow, but that was the only bit I didn't know !
If anyone is interested on coming on more mixed make London tunnel runs, please get in contact with me and i can keep you in the loop

Thanks for the kind words guys and gals - nice to see some gals there today in testosterone town. Shelly, I will refine my navigational skills before showing you the route to the loo again. Just for interest exactly WHERE did 67 TVrs vanish to for 20 minutes at/after Canary Wharf???
It does me leave me thinking that the future of these runs lies with accurate written instructions rather than satnavs, and with passengers to share the fun and read the directions.
(Though ideally written instructions with all the pages in the correct order - sorry to those to whom I handed printed copies at the start, one page was out of order)
Sad to see Lev with clutch failure - hope you will be with us next time Lev. And I hope anyone else with malfunctions managed to get home.
I was pleased to see a good gathering at Battersea, so the directions couldn't have been too bad.
As for future runs, I agree two a year is about right, it allows new people to join and the rest of us to refine the process so that it really works well. I personally liked doing the run in daylight, so would suggest the next one be in August or early September rather than October (last time I began to realise that TiTTs was a reference to what was frozen off, not an acronym for the run itself!)
Anthony, it might be an idea to have "team leaders" who know the route a little better than the others and who could take care of their group of ,say, ten or twelve? It does me leave me thinking that the future of these runs lies with accurate written instructions rather than satnavs, and with passengers to share the fun and read the directions.

I'm in the yellow Chim, thanks for a fantastic pic!!!
The lovely curved perspective is great.........and that shot down the tunnel is one I would blow up as big as possible and put on my wall, specially if it was my car.......
with the photographer's permission, of course.

Yes, splendid idea Lester. About 8-10 of us, local to the event, could meet up the weekend before and go around the route in a convoy. I know I wrote it, but having been around it the weekend before, I found that I didn't actually need the instructions on the day.....I just remembered where it went next.i am happy to put my name forward

I would be up for it, you clearly are, Mat P would I imagine, Stu is a past master, and the rest will appoint themselves i am sure.
There would of course be no need to do quite as many repeats at Puddle Dock, Rotherhithe and Westferry.......that would save an hour or so, and a minor refinery worth in fuel.
It did just cross my mind - while there was clear evidence of road work stuff in Westferry Circus, I wondered if my getting permission to go through Canary Wharf directly led to that being done.....
Thank you first of all for letting a non TVR join in the fun. It was a fantastic morning. Great to see and hear so many wonderful cars and be surrounded by a nice bunch of people all appreciating the same thing. I know both of us were grinning from ear to ear throughout the morning. I have lots of footage to edit and will post the link to the video in the next few days. Please count me in for the next one. Does anyone have any footage of my Clio in any of the tunnels as I stupidly forgot to get my passenger to film any of my fly byes ;(

it didnt look like road works to me, it looked like intended "stopping you park at westferry" work to me, or are you saying that as they knew we were around, they knew when to close it?
also if we did do groups and were getting around a bit quicker, we might even be able to add in the heathrow tunnels :-)
