Surprised as the mould was so toxic that the man who came in to clean it didn't wear a mask.

Although good advice, most of the problems have been exaggerated IMO.

Oh and, think Beeny has had a reduction.

Oh and, think Beeny has had a reduction about a dozen kids, so they'll be round her knees when she takes her bra off.

Lets not spend much on all the important things, don't fix anything permanently but bodge over it and spend all our money on a flashy kitchen and interiors.

I'm sad to see that she's downsized, she had a couple of interesting properties. It was nice to hear her voice, I hadn't realized I'd missed it. A bit Mariella Frostrup, if you know what I mean. Oh, and I didn't notice the house at all...

Agreed

The roof support seemed fairly Ok, as did the extension roof replacement.

But I wasn't sure at all about the work they did on the sidewall. Wasn't there anything else that could have been done instead, certainly before putting in a flash kitchen.

Somehting is not right with this story unless I missed something at the beginning. Did they have no form of survey done at all? Even a mortgage valuation should involve a surveyor looking at the building, and it would have been obvious even from a cursory inspection that there were problems with that house. Someone should be getting sued if there was a survey.

The roof support was OK up to a point but, should have used bolts (not screws) to secure the new supports. Most of the movement on the flank wall looked to be fairly old and, most probably happened over many years of settlement, as witnessed by the old woodwork bodge between floor and wall to cover gap.

The only other sensible option, re the flank wall, would be to rebuild but, the cost of such would only be warranted if further movement was to be observed. All IMO of course. smile

That was my thoughts too.

Difficult thread to read, this one! scratchchin

I'm not sure which posts are serious comments about the show and which are cheap (but quite funny) innuendo... hehe

More bodging smash

Can people legally buy a property without getting it surveyed, I thought a survey is a necessity for buildings insurance?

Terrible TV.

"Let's see what it would be like if your children were burnt alive."

"Imagine your child's scorched bones on the bed."

"Just because you didn't check what sort of boarding was used in the ceiling."

"Aren't you bad parents?"

"Can you cry a bit more for the cameras, love? Once more, with feeling.""

Beyond satire.

Which bit of no are you struggling with?

I have to say I was astonished that insurance paid for the drains work in last week's show.
