Not sure if there is a post on this, I couldn't find one. Is anyone else watching it? I don't know how many in the series I've missed, but I'm absolutely fascinated.

Yes, am I right in thinking that last week's was the journey to the centre of the earth?

I watched it tonight, saw the trailer and thought is looked good. I thought it was utterly terrible.

Hammond was crap, and I thought the animations were worse than cheapo 90's programmes.

Very disappointed.

I wanted to see more real stuff and it just seemed to rely way too much on computer graphics (ie lifting Trafalgar Square out of London). I wanted him to travel the underground and do so much more.

If I see him go up once more on that cherry picker over a fake earth then I will ...

I don't think he is very good at "acting" when nothing is actually there. He just comes across as extremely patronising.

Also, I am sure it looked like he was going to burst out laughing on more than one occasion. Maybe aware of the ridiculousness of it.

I agree, it was pitched at a very low level. Hammond on the cherry-picker pretending to look at the model earth was sad too.

Which suits a lot of people. It was perfect for my Dad and my Brother. Dr Yorkshire bloke's Wonders of the Universe went waaay over their heads but I loved it.

Babyish in the extreme.

Watch the older series "Earth Story". Originally broadcast in 1999 and still shown on Discovery Channels of various sorts. Much more intelligent and an excellent narrator and host in the form of Aubrey Manning.

I watched it with my 16 year old son, who thought it was great

One question i have, why every time they supposedly drained on ocean was there water falling into it, think about it, to drain it all the water above would have to go first.

My son didn't understand me either getmecoat

It would make a good challenge for the CGI softwear.

Could have been a great show if they had used anyone but Hammond. He is an irritating tt.

Arthur Dent: The Earth!
Slartibartfast: Well, the Earth Mark II, in fact. We're making a copy from our original blueprints.
Arthur Dent: Are you telling me you originally made the Earth?
Slartibartfast: Oh, yes. Did you ever go to a place - I think it was called Norway?
Arthur Dent: No. No, I didn't.
Slartibartfast: Pity. That was one of mine. Won an award, you know. Lovely crinkly edges.
