BBC Sitcom "re-boots"

Just a heads up for some great British comedy TV (some not so great). Not sure if a full series will be aired - at least one is a one-off.

Porridge - BBC1, Sunday 28th August 21.30
Til Death Us Do Part - BBC1, Thursday 1st September 21.00

Mike Berry's still around.
And so, I think, are Vivienne Johnson & Penny Irving.
Did Viviene Johnson have much of a part apart from the obvious visual ones? And so, I think, are Vivienne Johnson & Penny Irving.
Can't remember Penny Irving and Mike Berry replaced Trevor Bannister a decade after it started. Don't really count him.

Awesome idea doing the stuff from the 90s, terrible idea doing the older (70s?) stuff its pretty sacred ste.
With the exception of Porridge that lot is best left in the past. And porridge can stay with it, but out of respect not dread. Also a BBC mockmentary about Nigel Farrage? This places collective head will fall off through rage

I'd love to see how they're going to do "Till death us do part" justice in this day and age!
Can't wait for Love Thy Neighbour reboot too Although the way the women treat their men as idiots (true in this case) was ahead of its time!
That said it seems like a dreadful idea - Did I understand that SOME episodes are original scripts that were never made or have been lost? I've caught some Hancock's Half Hours on the radio, everyone (as with AYBS) just seems to be doing impressions. I can't see the point personally...

Yes and never forget that some of the original series were total sh*t like Goodnight Sweetheart, Are You Being Shagged (how will they get round the non-PC now?) and dross like Gimme Gimme Gimme. Even Open All Hours and Sorry were terrible.
How about a remake of Love Thy Neighbour which is about as good an idea as these!
Trying to fill Ronnie Barker and Warren Mitchell's boots is going to be impossible. All they need now is to try to recast Black Adder...
Mind you, it's not as if Dad's Army didn't work...oh wait...

A sitcom about bigamy and infidelity. It truely was dire.
Surely it's only bigamy if he's married to them at the same time?
It's not something I particularly watched but the bare bones of it aren't really much of a comedy but actually pretty unpleasant with all the scamming and cheating. At least in the end Gary gets stuck with the crappier option.
