An epic movie about Islam's Prophet Mohammad is in the pipeline, backed by a producer of the Lord of the Rings.
Please, please let it be made a la "Life of Brian".....

Protests and burning effigies anyone?

Six when he married her, I believe; 'preggers' at nine. It's like basing a religion on the teachings of Gary Glitter.

To be fair, the Abrahamic religions seem to compete amongst themselves for 'Worst behaviour to be held as an example'; they should not be allowed to sweep this stuff under the carpet.

I would have thought so. They have some issues about the portrayal of the prophet (you're not meant too) - images of him are a blasphemy. I believe that was what caused all the fuss with the Danish cartoons, not so much the content but the fact they depicted Mohammed.

I fear whoever accepts the lead role is brave/foolish/not long for this world...

"international epic" aimed at "bridging cultures"

something tells me shagging 9 year olds and instructing people to kill infidels will not get a mention.

So apart from a few lib dem types who is this film aimed at? Muslims probably wont watch it as its against their way to depict him (PBUH). I can't see birds going to watch it as its not about some thicko getting married and having lots of hick ups on the way.

Me too ... the wikipedia article makes out that he was first wedded and had children after the age of 25. Not impossible that the articles have been edited in the prophets favours though?

I reckon Graham Norton would do a fine job. He has religious experience from Father Ted. Although if they want to be truly accurate it would have to be Jonathon King or Gary Glitter.

Nope. They are completely misinformed and will be most disappointed in the Afterlife. When they get their bowl of seventy two crystal clear raisins. Being unable to read your own Holy book can be a biatch...
