Tbh I was a bit disappointed with the final episode compared to the rest of the series.

Have to agree, a bit dissapointed with the ending, unlikely to be another series (unless we go to war with someone else) Not sure Simon would go AWOL in the mountains, but then I haven't been in those stressful situations, couldn't even imagine what those guys go through. (Although I do live near Braintree and know what he meant when he said there's nothing in Braintree biggrin)

The other way round for me, I was disappointed with most of the series, while there were some great one liners, the last ep was by far the best. The series fell short for me, all except the Lt Col. he rose up this series, booking the restaurant and telling them to F Off! was masterful
(You feel he has had enough of the misfit team.)

Really sad to see this one gone now. The Colonel was simply superb.

Frustrating that the BBC have once again come up with a popular series only to ( apparently ) end it after fewer episodes over three seasons than even the sttiest US production makes in a single season frown

"Always leave them wanting the UK have traditionally made short run series, and the better quality often shows. I would rather 6 episodes per series of good writing, than 22 episodes of average and re-hasehd episodic stories

I feel that's more to do with money. The US networks can afford to pay out millions for 22 episodes of the Big Bang Theory.

There maybe another series. I felt the last episode left it open ended.

Sad to see that BBC have confirmed that there are not doing another series. http://www.chortle.co.uk/news/2015/07/15/22832/blu...

Not sure if I'm sad or glad about that. Sad because it was a very good series, but glad they're going to quit while it's good and not flog it to death. I think Fawlty Towers and Blackadder have proved that a short run can mean it's better overall. Plus given the ending of the last series it was pretty obvious they were caning it, any new series would have to be either a new team coming in, or some kind of spin off series following them in the UK or on their next deployment, which could be an absolute disaster.
