Anachronistic, bile inducing idiots. Dire music, jaded themes and an ugly egotistical person to boot.

Kenny Everett. Now you're talking!

And whilst we're on the subject of much-missed Radio 2 chaps and the dilution of the station's quality of output, let's not forget Sir Terry.

Yep, John Peel and Tommy Vance as well, whatever happened to Adrian Just, he always sounded like Kenny Everett to me.

Planet Rock is alright but they do keep trying to plug some awful new bands which bores me stless.
The trouble with me when it comes to rock music is that most tracks I either love or hate like today they played tracks by U2 and Guns n Roses which I hate but then played a gem by Steve Miller Band called Swingtown where's if I'm listening to Solar Radio which plays soul/jazz even the tracks I'm not over keen on I can put up with.
One genre of music I hate is indie especially all that crap from the 90s like Pulp,Oasis and Blur, no wonder they they never made it in America, absolute crap.

When he does put a good song on, he just talks over it or sings over it. What a tit

Holy moley!!!
Well he always had the face for radio but now he has the figure. No wonder he hasn't been on TV for a while.

What makes dull radio is stagnant time slots, mix up the presenter slots weekly or monthly at least.
As it is, it's every ten years or more before a slot is changed.

So if Wright is on near 500k a year, what are some of the other radio 'stars' pulling in? When I read things like this it boils my piss a little given the way the license fee is enforced and then you find out how it's spent!

For me to keep this on track, it's the singing over songs that grinds my gears...

I find Steve Wright ok to be honest. Yeah he does repeat himself but gets some good guests and plays music I quite like during my working day.

lordy if ppl don;t like a DJ switch it off ffs.

there's plenty of choice out there.

I like radio 2 alot because of the variety of music and the live slots, but I can't stand jazz and I'm not into folk music so I don't listen to that bit....

its pretty simple really.

where else could I get joe bonammassa as album of the week and adrian lester as guest on the same day??? i'm not keen on Elaine Paige - her laugh is very annoying and I'd personally allow Liza Tarbuck to run headfirst into a wall but they have just recruited micahel ball into sunday mornings and he seems very genuine...

I cannot stand commercial radio - Leeds has Radio Aire and its fecking awful - if they play groove is in the heart or I'm a dreamer one more time I swear I'll firebomb the place. its cheap and it has adverts.

I honestly think with radio 5 live included, bbc radio is pretty much the best thing they use the licence fee for
