I used to love Mark and Lard.
Just listened to 10 mins and just got bored. A little repetitive and annoying. Did not smile once.
Maybe it is me.
Our tastes change - what I thought was hilarious in my late teens / early twenties is very different to what I now find funny in my early forties, especially the 'wacky' humour like Mark & Lard.Just listened to 10 mins and just got bored. A little repetitive and annoying. Did not smile once.

I made the mistake of popping a Shirehorses tape into the player in my Alfa 33 sometime in the 90s, whilst driving down a a busy 3-lane A road in rush hour, not having heard the songs before.
On came the song "Ugly Bleeder"...
"I pulled a wench
Despite my stench
She had a face just like a welder's bench..."
I laughed so hard I damn near ruptured my spleen, or something important around there anyway. I was fortunate to be able to get the car into a side road through my convulsions and tears of laughter, so I could get it out of my system and calm down. I genuinely don't think I ever laughed so hard at anything in my entire life.
I can still sing the entire 'Ballad of Franny Lee' from memory to this day.
