Forgot to mention Shoot 'Em Up
The most unrealistic film I have ever seen, but still found it funny to watch!
Plus it has Monica Bellucci in

It was recorded ages ago from the HD movie channel, unrealistic as mentioned but really watchable.
I found it quite boring, and switched it off before the end.

Watched Donny Darko for the first time at the weekend, thought it was terrific.
Donnie Darko 2 is coming...although its not the sort of film that lends itself to a sequel I'd have thought. Oh and don't read the 'meaning/explanation' of the film on the web - its mind bending stuff.picked up this in blockbuster at the weekend. the cover only made a slight reference to the fact the main character is gay, and its not in any way 'gay cinema'. very good film looking at the relationships in the family and the angst the main guy goes through just to try and fit in with his fathers expectations of him. i seem to watch very few films these days where i can't guess whats coming next, this was original righ the way through, is very well shot, and the soundtrack is superb.

also watched 'lord of war' with nic cage. ok, not brilliant, didn't expect it to end as it did, and he at least tried to speak through his mouth and not his nose in this one.

Watched Little Miss Sunshine last night, great film.
Never saw the dance at the end coming at all! Brilliant
One of those films I thought I would hate but it turned out to be brilliant, mainly helped by Alan Arkin as the granddad.Never saw the dance at the end coming at all! Brilliant
"It's always with the goddamn fking chicken!"
"Listen to me, I got no reason to lie to you, don't make the same mistakes I made when I was young. fk a lotta women kid, not just one woman, a lotta women."
ETA - watched Devil's Advocate last night. An oldie but a goldie...Charlize Theron

That's a bit odd, the last two films I watched were Donnie Darco and Little Miss Sunshine, and I hadn't read this thread, maybe it's just we're all watching film 4........or because a giant rabbit called Frank told me to.
Ghostbusters, last night, E4, brilliant, it had been ages since I'd last watched it, and even longer since I watched it after 9 pm.
At the Mayor's office after their headquarters got shut down -
"Everything was ok until dickless shut the power down"
The Mayor "Is this true?"
Bill Murry "Yes, It's true, this man has no dick"
You don't get to hear those jokes at 4pm on Christmas day.

watched this at the weekend:

very good film, superbly acted and observed. 'different' but enjoyable.
also watched 'the brothers grimm' which was a lot of fun and, being a terry gilliam film, a visual treat. i do want to know why everyone had a dodgy yorkshire accent though!

Continued the re-visitation of films now on Blu-ray thing this weekend.
Saw Pan's Labyrinth again. I'd forgotten how brutal it is in places. Beautiful film.
Slumdog Millionaire was mandatory because Mrs Zep was keen to see it again. Looks amazing on Blu-ray. But loses much of the magic when you know what's coming.
(Also finished season 2 of Dexter and am getting deeper into The Wire. -Good stuff)
