Yes that as well. I also remember Susan Tully on Why Don’t You.
Ah yes. Also, Michelle Gayle.

What do these people do when they don’t work for decades? How do they make money?

If they were wise with the cash, they don't need a proper job.

Bill Burr covered this pretty well in his podcast, where he used to see the people in his circle rise to the top and think they made it, only to be back in the land of normal but now haven't got a pot to piss in because they bought the big house and car. Some do it well, many don't.

What? Surely Firefly was before Big Bang Theory!? If you haven't seen it it's a cult favourite and Summer gets to kick some ass in the final movie Serenity.
Firefly , only 1 season , started 2002.

Big Bang theory , 2007 >

Don't know which series she appeared in BBT .
She appeared in one episode of Big Bang theory as herself based on her appearance in Sara Connor Chronicles.

Talking of people who may have risen to the top, but aren't there any longer...

She is very beautiful. It was a brilliant show, I was gutted it was never renewed, had lots of potential.
It also had an absolutely massive cliffhanger ending!

It was the most worthy sequel to T2, better than any of the subsequent films. But, being a SciFi show on Fox, it was doomed.

I believe it's the once-popular beat combo known as East 17. I think the beardy one once managed to run himself over with his own car, if I have identified them correctly.
