He's suffered a broken rib and badly cut face, allegedly.
Source? Any further, what was he driving.

The radio silence is worrying.
From the tone of the news, he isn't badly injured.

The cynic in me thinks they're holding back the detail and photos as they'll air it in a future show.

It's what the tabloids are reporting, quoting his family as a source. No mention of the type of car involved.

He's 'friends' with Piers Morgan. Suddenly gone off him a little.

It was missing a wheel before he even got in it, therefore I'm not holding out much hope smile

You’re right, car was full of mud and grass afterwards. I think he had a bit of a Richard Hammond situation in that his head was above the roll cage because he is so tall and the hoop dug into the soft grass. This is speculation based on first hand knowledge!

Best wishes to Freddie for a complete recovery. The involvement of Piers M I find distasteful personally , that man grasps every possible opportunity for publicity.
Isn’t that the truth. A hateful individual with no saving graces whatsoever.

I knew the defence editor for the Mirror for a little while and whilst PM divides opinion he did say that he was one of the most instinctive journalists he had ever met and worked with. Didn't stop the turd making up stories about soldiers torturing people in the back of trucks though.

Hard to believe Hammond’s head has ever been above a roll cage…

Only when he stood on the seat.

Massive Segway, but this reminded me.....have you seen the video he did about the crash recently? I can't stand the bloke most of the time (always been the least funny and most try hard of the three of them), but I hugely cut him some slack after hearing him explain just how close he was to death. I think it was reasonably well known he had a brain injury (and hence I'm sure his personality isn't what it originally was) but I got an appreciation for the fact his approach to life must have been permanently changed. I'll be honest I was quite emotional watching it!

Not seen it but he was at Prescott when I was there back in May and he seemed like a genuinely nice chap. Chatting to anyone that said hello and always smiling.

The program he did with Stirling Moss was good too ("Hammond Meets Moss") if you can find it anywhere.

Lovely at the Goodwood Members' Meeting too, I saw him walk into the paddock when the Gerry Marshall cars were just firing up and he lit up like a kid at Christmas and even let out a little 'woop' of excitement. Nobody else around at the time, so not playing up for TV crew etc.

Maybe its easy with one wheel at the front. but can you roll a car with the 2 wheels at the front? Maybe his oversize self was giving it a high centre of gravity. Usual clowns at the bbc dead keen to have the noddy car look with him tearing around a track.
Anyway hope he gets better soon as I saw a joey/racer/otherone ep the other day and it was not that good.

I met him at the Morgan factory. He was there getting a few bits and bobs for one of his cars. Was very personable and we chatted for a bit. The factory team said he was down to earth and a good bloke too.
