I'm sure lots of businesses will be keen for some exposure on Mat's channel
My son used to work for a company that is based very near him (Shepshed). They make VERY high end bespoke kitchens. They have also tried to do the TV thing. They may be interested in some exposure.

Why not, out of interest?

Because what’s the point? It’s not “I’m fixing this car because I enjoy it” (and we like watching car content), it’s I’m installing 100 square meters of porcelain patio because it’s free and you mugs can watch it, just like has been done by all the Essex lot.

I just wish that I could get fools to part with their money, or time, so easily.

So you'd rather pay for it than get a discount/freebie in return for a shout out? You don't have to watch the house content.

Yeah it makes me cringe how they go on about how good y food or air up is, when tbh I doubt they would spend their own money on it, it's just an advert they are paid for.

But having your house done up at a discount is a bit different, you aren't likely to get a kitchen you don't really like, you aren't going to get anything difficult to reverse done just because it's 'free'.

I’ve always thought the way Mat slots in the Y food ads are quite funny and don’t seem like a blatant advert. A lot of channels have me reaching for the fast forward button at that point

Mat is the master of integrating adverts into his content to make them much less skippable.

His protégé Chris Slix has cottoned on to it as well. The last one in his X3M video was lesson in doing it.

Fair play to them.

Quite a house. His stuff is all so watchable. I watched it thinking ‘st I would not want to clean the place, it’s a rabbit warren’ - let’s start a crowd funding round so he can afford a cleaner.

Imo the fools are the tradesman who do it for nothing.

I have had a couple (nowhere near mat scale) ask to collaborate for work but its a no from me.

Decent tradesman will be busy enough to not need to do it.

Totally different if your a national builder or supplier as i have no doubt through someone with enough following you will generate a lot of work/business but you need to be placed nationally to take advantage of that.

I can't blame the people who get the work done though, not at all. Wish someone would come round mine for free hehe

I always think with the house collab stuff that his audience is probably not what they want, I'm guessing apart from us more mature ones on here its 20's 30's age group who wont be spending ££££ on a bespoke kitchen etc, they'd sooner spend £1k a month financing and insuring a rebuilt M3!

From the outside it's right up my street, lovely place.

Inside not so much - like you say, a rabbit warren, or I'd call it "higgledy piggledy", it doesn't seem to flow very well.

Also, the layout doesn't seem to suit the lifestyle you'd hope to have living there - I'd want a covered walkway to a very large garage, boot room entrance to the back with shower and washing machine etc for when you come in muddy from walking the dog, etc.

They are property developers too though, so maybe they'll fix that?

I quite like higgledy piggledy! Enough space to section off areas dependent on their use - entertainment, work, private areas. A different story as mentioned before once kids come along and you need to keep an eye on them, but all workable.

Personally, with his online presence and car collection there’s no way I’d be giving people a tour of my own home. I can’t imagine Kev would be much use against a gang looking to empty the place.

More likely looking for 5 supercar shaped keys.

That's a very good point. Given the laws in this country, I'm not sure how you'd go about mitigating that risk either. If it were South Africa you could employ 24 hour security with AKs, but not really an option here.

Perhaps a 24 hour floodlit clay pigeon trap on site, that just happens to have "friends" with shotguns getting ready to shoot around the clock - obviously you'd want to make a video showing their marksmanship and what buck shot does to a human body, for the views??!!

They're worth a lot of money in the Middle East or Africa, or in parts in the UK, so yes, I'd think there would be.

They're also incredibly well known cars and Mat's social media reach globally is huge so it's probably not worth the hassle.
