Not worst in the history of TG, not even worst with this current set of presenters. Equally not the best using the same pace sticks.

The child in me laughed at Postman Pad getting an inflatable banana in the face.

All in all as above, rather have a bit of a middle ground TG than ballocks like Celebrity Tourist with some dumpy unfunny uncultured Scottish shortarse.

Though must be said Celebrity Mastermind makes one feel like a sodding genius.

You often see the fking idiot way of picking cars on these TV shows. Does anyone use those methods in real life?
The car of your dreams excluded as you cant easily get at the mobile phone you dropped so you buy some sort of invalid friendly vehicle with a wheelchair ramp.
At least the (since this week) foul horsefaced git is not on it anymore
I agree that I don't think people pick cars because of things like that. But once they actually own them, practical things like that become very important.

I enjoyed about 30 minutes of the whole series, and I'm thankful for iplayer because I can watch the small amount that they do that I like, and then fast forward through the rest of it. I'd never sit down and watch it at its scheduled TV slot now, because I know that it is mostly crap.

Enjoyed the Ferrari section, although as has already been said, would have been better with CH doing it. I thought the rest was pretty poor.

Not interested in anything to do with supercars. I'll never own one and they're not even aspirational to me, Delivery vans made me chuckle, new car choice, not funny and not relevant to me as I would never waste money on buying a car new. Pointless segment.

So I guess it was about 15 minutes long for me then. Thank god for iplayer!!

Something about an ugly Italian car, repetition of dicking about in old vans and I fell asleep before seeing much of the last bit. Not TG's best, not by a long way.

Didn't Freddie say, oh the Taycan's gone, when they gave the 40k threshold?

How much does he think they are?
I thought he said 'Macan'
Ah maybe he did. They start at £50,800 according to what I've just read, basically there was no way he was getting a new Porsche for £40k.

And I bet you can't actually order one for even that price anyway. The dealer will push you to add 10k of options before accepting your order.

Forgive me if this sounds like a personal dig because it isn't meant to be. smile And I know you aren't the only one to talk of FFing through the bits you don't like. But how do you decide which bits to FF through and how far do you go? In my life experience, sticking with things is often good because sometimes you get a surprise and things actually turn out well. And in the case of TG, the whole programme is only 1 hour anyway. I guess I'm just a bit obsessive about completing things though. Which isn't necessarily a good trait.

No worries. I'm just very picky with the things I like that's all. I generally just enjoy it if they are driving cars that I personally like, or if they are reviewing cars that I like. For example there wasn't anything in the whole of the first/third/fourth episodes of this series that interested me, but I did enjoy a fair bit of the second episode though.

I've still got episode 5 to watch of this series, so there might be bits in that one that I will like too. I tended to like Fifth Gear more in the earlier years because I like watching car reviews and lap battles between cars etc. However I appreciate that YouTube is the place that you go to for that sort of stuff now though.

Top Gear actually does well to keep on going on TV in this day and age I reckon. I've never liked/enjoyed all the pratting about/silly stuff that they do, however I appreciate that I'm in a very small minority regarding that though.

Cheers. I'd suggest that the reason they keep going on mainstream TV nowadays is because they do the silly stuff that appeals to non-car fans. But perhaps that's what you are saying too. smile

Finally watched it last night, actually turned it off 1/2 way through and went shopping with the OH, then watched the rest... guess that says something.

Ferrari - lovely thing, always nice to see a car most will never see let alone own, but Paddy isn't the guy for testing the uber luxurious hypercar.

Vans - Done before in the CHM days as I recall, rinse and repeat there.

Family car - pointless, who would drop a phone and that would be part of the selection criteria?

It was a sad end to the series, we've had weeks off waiting for the kick-ball to finish and this is what we have as the series finale?

Seemed a bit daft to remove the Jogger from that test - most likely the ideal family car for sensible budgets right now.

Regarding the Jogger, didn’t it fall foul of 50mpg rule? Having said that, is it that less economical buying a £17k car that does 46mpg versus a £40+k car that does 50+mpg?
