It really does reflect badly on Radio 2 that Ken Bruce seems to be so highly rated. He seems a nice bloke, and I think almost everyone enjoys 'Popmaster', but he's hardly someone dripping with talent. Seems he's more like an acceptable offering surrounded by intolerable crap.
This 100%.
Compare Ms Ball in the morning with the late Mr Wogan. Utter Crap.
And don't get me started on Steve Wright.

Gary Davis makes KB look a bit of a dinosaur, when he stands in... and I used to hate him on R1.

Likewise, but on Radio 2 he seems to be one of the better presenters. Normally plays great music too.

Remember Jonathon Ross on a Saturday morning-brilliant!!
Yes, such a class act. Remember the way he and that other oxygen thief, Russell Brand, publicly humiliated Andrew Sachs? So much better than anything Alan Carr and Melanie Sykes have done.
Even at his very worst, JR is streets ahead of that braying fool Carr. As and31 said, the Saturday morning program was fantastic.
So you think that what he and Brand did to Andrew Sachs was acceptable then?
Yes. Only a Daily Mail reader could get excited about it.
Words fail me! So presumably you would also find it acceptable if it were an old person that you were close to that was publicly humiliated so badly by them?

You really don't appear to be a very nice person do you?
Shock, horror comedians make jokes about people!!

you really don't appear to have anything approaching a sense of humor do you?
I struggle to understand how anyone could think it acceptable behaviour to humiliate a 78 year old on national radio.

Hurrah! Simon Mayo back in the drivetime slot from end March with the same shouty sports bloke and no doubt some confessions. Greatest Hits Radio so ads, but still good news. Bye bye Sara Cox.

‘Confessions’ striped any credibility from his old show.

That's great. ONly snag is that since C-19 I no longer go into my office and we all work from home. i intend to retire in the summer so I doubt I'll be listening to to drive time on my way home from work again. wink

I enjoy Sara Cox at drive time. Am I in the minority? She would be even better at breakfast. Can’t really take to Zoe Ball.

I do too, apart from the stupid phone in quiz which no one ever seems to lose at. No competition if SM is back though. Zoe Ball made me switch to R5L and I’ve never been back.

My mum went on that quiz to win the mug and they tell you the answer!

Nicki chapman was standing in for Zoe ball recently and this will for Sara cox, I really rate her as a presenter.

Bugger, I REALLY enjoy Simon's Scala programme. Will follow him over to Grestest Hits fm for a go even though I suspect the music choices will be same-old unimaginative Heart/Magic fare. Hope to be wrong.
Always got wittertainment on snouds for quality weekend shed time.

Enjoy Simon but you probably won't enjoy the music. The playlist is heavily rotated and narrow. It's pretty much possible to set your watch by it.

You're not alone - Shame he's not replacing Steve Wright and keep Sara Cox in place...

I missed the bit about Greatest Hits and just wanted it to be BBC R2.

Oh well. Good for Simon

Sara Cox isn’t going anywhere, Simon Mayo is doing the Drive Time show on Greatest Hits Radio, not Radio 2.

As I have pretty much gone nowhere for the past 12 months the radio in the car is rarely on (and before that the airing the BBC received from me was R4 briefly in the morning). WFH has meant internet radio is king and I have set everything in the house to Megarock.

No - Jo Whiley/'Righty/Sara Cox/Feltz.....................................win, win!!!
