I think the others will hope he is excused the milling smile

Cracknell will do well. I'd put money on Wes nelson doing ok aswell. Everything the guy seems to have turned his hand to has gone well for him so far since love island.

When they do the milling do they have to aim for the head?

Would they be marked down for jabbing and body shots ?
Probably the most efficient way of beating cracknell .

Yes, milling is full on aggression, no blocking dodging or weaving but head and body blows are both fine with the majority being face.

Does being a rowing athlete mean you are a good fighter? I guess he will have great stamina and strong shoulders but I doubt many professional boxers train in rowing boats.

He did try top punch a camel once and the camel did look quite worried.

Cracknell tried celebrity boxing and got knocked clean out by a New Zealand cricketer and I do mean clean out, he was unconscious before he hit the ground.

Anyone applying any kind of tactics or skill in milling and the fight will be stopped.

Milling is supposed to be pure non stop aggression until you are told to stop. It is irrelevant if you over power your opponent or your opponent overpowers you - just keep punching.

Oh right , so if you landed a few good body shots so the other guy can no longer stand you could actually still loose.

Yes.

I was on one that had a normal sized guy who happened to be U15 Southern Counties champion. He used well aimed body blows. The opponent windmilled at his head to no effect. The windmiller won, even though he could hardly breathe and needed help to stand from the DS.

Boxer boys card was marked and the DS made him suffer. They don't like it when class outperforms enthusiasm.

Boxers have been in the programme before, it depends on what they decide on the day. The professional (celeb edition) one they told to just stand there as three had a free pop at him. The normal edition which featured a 6'7 juicehead, then they let him fight, and he battered his opponent.

I remember foxy having a word with one chap who had to fight a girl. He said no need to show us you can fight, we know that but don’t go easy on her…however, if she sticks her chin out do not bang it.

Awful situation. A very narrow tight-rope to have to walk, and IMO not at all fair on whichever chap gets lumped with it.

Sometimes they want controlled agression, sometimes they want you to flip the psycho switch.

Uneven match - they want to see control, especially if you get hurt.

Underdog - they want to see you as a fearless headcase who will do the necessary, but will stop when ordered.

Have this on Sky+ but have read something today about one of the contestants? Life changing(????) injuries leaving permanent scars or similar?

As above, I expect Cracknell to be made wear the pads and have a few milling him! He is a specimen but I’m not sure how much a genuine team player. In his Four, he rowed with Pinsent and Redgrave so couldn’t be king bunny which was probably best for him. I’m sure I saw him on an Arctic expedition with Ben Fogle and his single mindedness was jeopardising his own health and the safety of the team. The decision had to be taken away from him…..

Watched the first episode last night at 9pm. Well impressed with Aled Davies. Cracknell was very quiet and seemed to be a loner in the main living area from the brief shots of him. Ulrika off to a bad start - wow she's aged. A couple failed to rescue the casualty from the hut full of CS gas.
Article in the Daily Mail today saying Saira Khan is taking legal action against the show after claiming she suffered life changing injuries during filming. Wonder what that is all about as they seem very safety oriented usually? I'll have to keep watching to find out - if its shown of course as the legal action may stop it.

I would expect only boxers or people trained to defend themselves to be asked to just stand there. Like that head t'ball boxer from the last one, he knew how to take the punches.
