Going a bit off-topic but I'd recommend playing some of the old Star Wars games - TIE Fighter / X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter etc. as you'll get the fly the TIE Advanced in those
[Pedant Geek mode]The Tia Advanced in the Tie Fighter computer game was actually a development of Vader's Tie seen in the original star wars. It was later designated the TIE Avenger after the squadron that initially used it.
Vaders Tie became knows as the TIE X1 and was the prototype for the one found in the computer game.
It was part of a number of TIE designs that had shields and hyperdrive to combat the Rebels superior ships (Tie Defender, Hunter, Phantom), however due to MUCH higher costs, the empire went with massed Tie Fighters and Interceptors. (Quantity over Quality).
Yeah yeah, i liked Tie Fighter and Star Wars WAY too much when i was little....

Very much of the same ethos as the USSR during the Cold War. They preferred large quantities of cheap, simple fighters whilst the USA favoured a smaller number of much more expensive (and capable) fighters. Seems there is rumblings that tickets will go on sale\pre order around Monday this week, if this is USA and or UK i dont know.
Final trailer will be released at same time online, i believe it will premiere in cinema trailers for Spectre.
Hoping to get a midnight showing ticket, though work later that day will be entertaining taping my eyes open hehe.
I do like how this is the last trailer, there haven't been about 8 trailers\teasers, TV spots etc. etc. It keeps the mystery alive but builds excitement, like how trailers used to be used.

Don't know when the games came out. But in the days before the games, Vader's prototype Tie was what became the Tie Interceptor in the third film.
My mate wants to make this an event, so I'm thinking gold class at a Vue, anybody else got any ideas for a nice cinema experience?
We are going to the biggest IMAX 3D screen in London that we can get tickets for. There is even talk of getting dressed up! My mate wants to make this an event, so I'm thinking gold class at a Vue, anybody else got any ideas for a nice cinema experience?
Odeon and their lovely 'flexible ticket cost' thing they have going on is going to be interesting when Star Wars tickets go on sale. They are already tagging on an extra £1 to 'big films', but have added £2 for the privilege of seeing SPECTRE in the evening during the first few weeks, meaning £11.25 for the cheapest adult ticket (and this is well away from London).
Wouldn't be surprised at a £3 premium on Star Wars.

£11.25! I reckon I'll be lucky to see much change from £30 for a ticket.Wouldn't be surprised at a £3 premium on Star Wars.

Hmmm, Printworks has an IMax...but I think I prefer Odeon's gallery option (if they have it for SW7) with it's cosy atmosphere and drinks service.Dress up sounds fun....I like this.

I'm undecided at present, I may not have the b*lls to go the hole hog (although a friend has hinted he may breaking out his Obi Wan costume), I was more thinking of using it as an excuse to finally buy a proper light-sabre. Dress up sounds fun....I like this.

Anyone else hoping Palpatine didn't really die?
Ian Mcdiarmid is by far the best actor/character in the whole franchise imo, especially ROTJ.
Forget Palpatine, I'm hoping Darth Maul makes a re-appearance or at least someone of his physical presence. I think the Sith work best when they have the old evil wise dude pulling the strings and plotting his evil plots and then a younger badass for the fight scenes. Palps and Dooku where a terrible pairing IMO, old duffers just do not look good waving light-sabre's around!Ian Mcdiarmid is by far the best actor/character in the whole franchise imo, especially ROTJ.

With all due respect, if I see any reference to the prequel trilogy (which I don’t recognise as being anything to do with Star Wars), then I’ll be seriously disappointed.I remember going to the Phantom Menace on opening week and coming away thinking WTF was that sh*t.
I’ve been deeply scarred, so I’m apprehensive about this new film. I still hope it will be great though, and from the looks of things, I think the film makers have understood where mistakes were made in the past.

Darth Maul was the st though, he shone like a diamond in a goats arse in that film. I remember going to the Phantom Menace on opening week and coming away thinking WTF was that sh*t.
