Certainly something to chew on.

I don't think there was any back-story to Saul given in BB at all. In fact, I think he wasn't intended originally to be anywhere near as central a character as he became. Between Odenkirk's brilliant performance, and the way the story panned out, Saul grew and grew through BB, way beyond the originally envisaged role.

But, the fact also remains that Saul in Breaking Bad is never anyone but Saul (though he mentions about his real name being Jimmy McGill) but yet he has adverts all over town proclaiming "Better Call Saul!" as a lawyer

The fact that Kim, Chuck, Howard and anyone else from HHM, Davis and Main etc aren't mentioned at all in BB suggests to me that yes, they do come to some kind of end, to the degree that the persona of Saul Goodman is able to merrily advertise himself all over town on billboards and TV adverts all over Albuquerque without reprisal from any of his former colleagues or adversaries?

The characters are generally realistically written. Real people don't tell you much about themselves when you meet them, WW and Co were never friends with Saul. You'd not open with "I did law for old people and my girlfriend died horribly" you might mention past example of work you've done but beyond the "good weekend" chat I know very little about most of my clients background or family life.

Interesting to read that Vince Gilligan hasn't been actively involved in the writing room or other days to day work this season, although he has directed one episode.

Wikipedia doesn't show any new projects, so wonder what he is up to.

I was looking at what he was working on the other day and apparently some Raven adaptation and something else he can’t talk about.

Videos quite good!

Could I lay a small bet that Hank will make an appearance in S04?

That does look good, I do however suspect that all the 'action' from the whole series was covered in the trailer and the rest of it will be lovely, long lingering shots of seemingly pointless views that loads of people will gush over and I just won't get.

Oh, and my prediction is we won't see Saul the Lawyer from BB in this series either.

The wait is almost over.

Season 5 has also been given the green light.
