Yeah, a bit too perfect. I suppose you have to imagine they were making their way to his location and she stepped out to hail the car and they opportunistically decided not to look Ein Geschenk-Pferd in der mund.

IIRC the auntie handed over the ring when she asked him to get friendly with the secretary. In the petrol station, EP3 @ 13 minutes.

He called his handler (or whatever he is) before going off to find her to tell him what had happened. He was told to carry on as normal because they would fix it.

How they managed to track him down to the woods and be there at the right time is another question smile

Another teeny weeny car related error last night. Meyer's Audi 100 was a 1987/88 model approximately.
Again though, for 2-3 seconds of footage it's hardly relevant.
That shape Audi 100 came out in '82 and was "car of the year" '83?

That particular car was the very light facelift that came out in about 86-87.

Subtle differences are a curvy dashboard, wheel trims and very slight details elsewhere.

It's a little embarrassing to know this info really, but in my slight defense, the only reason I know is that my dad had an 85 model Audi 100 CC.

As a young teenager I was utterly car obsessed and collected brochures from all of the 'decent' manufacturers, although I do recall having a Ford one too wink, when the curvy Granada was launched, I think it was the first mainstream car with ABS in the UK. At the time, the Capri was still available to buy new.

Get's sillier, but a little darker, by the week!

I'm amazed this was touted as a 'German Homeland'...

I was expecting a serious cold war drama but really it's just junior james bond stuff and very unconvincing.

Yes it's enjoyable but even as backward as they were you couldn't see the DDR employing such a hapless spy.

I really liked Linda frown Agree her death was jarring as it was too convenient in a pre-mobile phone world he'd just find them in a forest they'd run into.

You guys must really struggle through life. It's not a fly-on-the-wall documentary.

It's Bourne/Bond/Mission Impossible with a German accent.

I thought when he spotter her from the bridge, and she was running into the forrest, the same merc was there (so was also following her).

Anyhow, I had a horrible thought today: Those east germans like Skinny dipping. Seem to do it all the time. Not what we do over here. Is this why Comrade Corbyn and Dianne Abbot went round east Germany in the 80s??? Do you think she...

I struggle with it. It's got some great aspects yet it falls down in alot of areas. Continuity, implasauasble parts. It's almost as though the Director is strangling creative and writing staff.

We got 2/3 way through ep 1. The whole thing is in German with subtitles (does that ever stop? I gather not?) so it's a slight slog to watch really.

I always like subtitled stuff. Surprised people don't get on with them.

I suppose it depends how fast you can read. I like them but I can read them faster than the actors can say them.

All the best thrillers seem to be subtitled.

All the Scandi noir stuff and my favourite Inspector Montalbano in Italian.
