Just watched the first episode. I thought it was great! Not perfect, but a good pilot. Sort of like galaxy quest but in a series.

It lulls you in to a false sense of it being a simple comedy (as did Red Dwarf) but then morphs in to a brilliant piece of scifi/drama.

Well I was pleasantly surprised by the first episode. Probably helps that I like MacFarlane's humour but it was also very nostalgic.

Enjoyed the first episode, had a very TNG feel to it but with better script and acting smile

Halfway through the first episode. It is such an homage to Star Trek, that they MUST have got permission surely?

Absolutely nothing like what I was expecting but a superb show. He has obviously always been a big star trek/star wars fan given the amount of references in family guy.

Watched the first two episodes of this using NowTV. It's almost too serious to be a comedy.

I note that the exec producer is Brannon Braga who has been involved with Star Trek since TNG days.

so let me get this straight - it's an Amazon production but we Brits can't watch it on our Amazon account.....

It's FOX actually. Probably a tie in with Amazon down the line but not at the moment. FOX UK will also have first play rights in the new year.

Wasn’t what I expected at all. Thought it would be dire but I’m really enjoying it.

Wasn't keen on the first one but episode two had some laugh out loud moments and is far better than I was expecting. Looking forward to more. smile

They get better as they go, particularly as the characters develop - the final episode has three proper LOL moments; so much so that I had to rewind each time as I missed the next bit due to laughing.

Watched this, Found it very charming, its very much in the flavour of older tv shows like star trek where there's a storyline of moral and intellectual challenge in an episode rather than the flashy soaps of today, and not taking itself too seriously.

Why the hell do they not worldwide release it and maximise income though, rather than deliberately create an unecessary situation where online streaming can rob them?

When Seth was 14/15 he made a Star Trek film - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn_Sgcxg5PQ
