SAS: Who Dares Wins

It is very true, normally if you fail a test you are out or on a warning of out on the next one.
They keep referring to SF but I am not 100% convinced that the ranger recon or whatever he was (head DS) is really SF as seen by the SAS / SBS? Even the Navy Seals would need to be Seal Team 6 to be compared to SAS?
Is this more the grey area of Pathfinders etc.?
Half the US Armed Forces are called Special Forces, but only a few are Tier 1. The only equivalents to SAS/SBS are SEAL Team 6 (now known as DevGru) who are = SBS and Delta Force who are = SAS. Recon Marines is a bit difficult as we dont have Marines here (Royal marines yes but they are part of the Navy) which is a separate branch of the armed forces. I think some parts of the US Rangers are also Tier 1They keep referring to SF but I am not 100% convinced that the ranger recon or whatever he was (head DS) is really SF as seen by the SAS / SBS? SAS Reserves used to be equal to 22 SAS but I think after Afghanistan they were bumped down to tier 2

I have to say, I would never have guessed that the firefighter was trans! I hope he is now happy.
That came as a complete surprise to me too!Wasn't overly impressed with Number 11 (supposed ex-street fighter turned pro-boxer). Clearly not up to it and relied on "an old boxing injury" to justify withdrawing, instead of just coming out and accepting it wasn't for him.
Oh and mouthy blonde PT woman - her face when Billy cut her off mid flow and shouted for the guard was hysterical.
To be fair, I'm starting to get in to this season, despite Keanu.

No Bro hugs and commiserations or prizes for trying their very best, either they managed the tests or they were out, which is closer to the reality of UKSF selection where the DS are actively telling participants that they are s&^t and don't deserve to be there.
I think they even started with something similar to the old 6 mile ATF, from later series this would have thinned out the participants somewhat before the series really started.
Is that true ?I think they even started with something similar to the old 6 mile ATF, from later series this would have thinned out the participants somewhat before the series really started.
I thought the attitude in the real selection is indifference.
The candidates know what's expected its up to them to achieve or give up and leave whenever they want rather than being encouraged/coached/beasted.

That came as a complete surprise to me too!Definitely very unexpected and i'm sure some juice was used to gain that sort of mass.

That was first hand from someone who has attempted a selection course for UKSF rather than the SAS, I'm first to admit its a small sample size but the impression he gave was that you had to find the inner strength and resilience to push past that kind of pressure.I thought the attitude in the real selection is indifference.

Just watched the latest episode, where the "recruits" have to fall back into the water, many failed (even though they went into the water), can anyone explain why they failed as I've not a clue?
It was pretty bizarre considering that they weren't flailing around and committed to it and ended up faceplanting the water. They were meant to go head first although we didn't even see Rambo do it properly.

I agree as Rambo let his arse drop before tipping backwards.
But Billy rescued it in fine style. To one contestant he said 'that was s

I felt sorry for the bloke who went in feet first as I don’t think he tried to style it.
The ones that failed were because they didn’t keep rigid so over rotated and face planted but who can blame them when Rambo did the same?
Rambo seems to be working towards a book deal of some sort to me as he keeps making California style comments of motivational snippets and semi psychological babble.

It was a test of character. I'm surprised they didn't start the "A real man would VW to stop his mates suffering", or "You are the worst kind of b

What a complete bell-end that Billy guy has become (like Ant before him, he's become a caricature of himself).
There was no need for him to bully that young chap about to do the braking.
He kept screaming at him "you're stressed" .....well of course he is, you're fecking screaming at the poor chap.
I know the whole show is b
ks, but I'm sure that incident was pretty real to give the scene some drama.

I re-watched episode 1 of series 1 the other day, really illustrates how much the show has changed.
Intro is basically Ant telling the guys (no women at first) about the basic rules and then it was pretty much off for an 8 mile combat fitness test. No dramatics and screaming for the sake of it. Not even that much swearing.
