Still don't think she should though. Very good though I'm sure it is, there is just not enough variety. She hasn't demonstrated skills across a wide range of different styles. I'm sure contestants have been criticised in the past for such a limited range. For me is should be Steve.
Fair enough she did cook a lot of Asian/Middle Eastern food, but then you could argue the others cooked a lot of European stuff. All those Italian references to Giovanna's food were a little tiresome. Overall, they were all great. Saliha's food was certainly the most consistently delicious-looking throughout for me.ETA apart from that duck in the final. No thanks.

Whilst I had that sort of déja vu / one trick pony thought a few times, that is an academic argument in the scheme of things.
If you only cooked penguin meat Antarctica style all competition that would be precisely no factor if you can consistently demonstrate superlative skills of flavours, combinations and presentation with everything cooked a la point and absolutely wow with your offerings. I don't recognise some of the put downs!

The BBC got their wet dream headline.
Sad, but my thoughts exactly.Really wanted to see Alison in the final.
I think Steve was the best of the three. Really cant believe they chose Saliha over Alison to start with.
Saliha is a very good curry chef, but not a masterchef....
Do we really think the bbc chose her for her ethinicity ? Is that where this country has stooped to ? A cooking show becoming all pc ?

It's been very close for the final four, indeed last week I thought that Lorna had as good a chance as any.
Without tasting the food I don't think any of us are in that great a position to argue, however it was clear that Giovanna ran out of time on her dessert and John wasn't that happy with Steve's sauce on his main.
I didn't think there was really any more variety Steve's cooking than Saliha's and although it obviously demonstrated a high level of skill I didn't really salivate at the prospect of eating much of it.
Saliha's stuff looked delicious and the judges, who could actually smell and taste it seemed to think so too. It is a shame that some are seeking to diminish her achievement by playing a warped race card.

It had absolutely nothing to do with her ethnicity.Perhaps the BBC can redress the balance by orchestrating a win next year by a vegan or someone who only cooks by the rules of Kosher (equally stupid), so they can avoid cooking pigs trotters or shellfish if it appears on the restaurant menu....
Nah, Saliha cooked elevated home cooking, Steve went for, and mostly achieved, restaurant quality cooking. On two occasions with the Pea and Rabbit dishes, he was up there with the Pros.
Saliha moaned about stuff, Steve ran his team kitchen like a Pro set up when needed.
Different standards. Steve was by far the better chef.
Frankly, they were so over the top with praise it smacked of a fix for me.
I have no ill feelings for Saliha, not her fault at all, she just happens to have been the person the BBC used to meet their diversity agenda that week.

I'm not one for the ethnicity thing, but it seems strange that Steve seemed to be by far the most organised, consistent, professional, non-panicked, of all of them, yet somehow didn't win. Is the BBC really that PC/cynical?? I would really like to think not, but there are an awful lot of 'diverse' items broadcast at the moment.
