Blimey, never realised that. Same thing for me regards series 2. Very annoying.

Just checked. They're available on demand.

THere was only ever 6 eps in the first season. Which I thought was a good idea.
Yeah the first series was a real high point, massive budget meant it was an epic blockbuster film look about it and the short series meant it moved as a quick pace.

Rumour has it the TV people who pay for it, demanded the second series cost half as much, and be twice as long so the budget per episode was 25% of what it was in the first series and the already written screenplay had to be stretched out - hence why the second series was probably a low point - it dragged on and on without much happening - if you look back through the threads a lot of people either gave up on the series or at least talking about doing so.

It's not bad, by any stretch, but it's a bit of a jolt after the first series.

Ive read the same thing about Season 2. The problem is commercial in nature. They need the show to reach a certain number of episodes before its usuable for syndication. The quicker it can do that, that secures them a huge revenue stream

At 6 episodes a season it would never happen. HBO use a very different model which is why it can make shows with 10 episode seasons but even they arent immune to it. The Sopranos for example, the 6th season was basically 2 seasons. I think Mad Men did the same but Ive never seen it.

Never look at a US trailer unless you want massive spoilers.

I've bought the comic 'Conpendiums' 1&2. No idea where that leads to regards where the series currently is. It's interesting already noticing some of the differences having only just started the comics.

The comics are very fast paced!

That is an epic of a trailer for Season 6, bloody nora.

The trailer for Fear of the walking dead makes it look like it has a more horror feel to it rather than an action feel that is the walking dead.

Plus watching the various trailers for the Fear, it looks like they've lifted a couple of scenes from previous zombie films!

I hope so, there's a dearth of decent horror serials.

Compendium 2 takes you just beyond the current end of the series. Hard to tell sometimes though as it diverges and come back multiple times and you see the same actions by different characters.

Thanks for that. The differences are obvious straight away. Especially Shane's death, would have happened in Season 1 but in a similar manner Carl, Rick and Shane in the woods having a disagreement.

Look forward to the Fear of TWD in August, should lead nicely onto Season 6.

I did exactly the same with the compendiums. They're fantastic - unbelievably brutal at times, even compared to the show (Michonne and the Governor - you'll know it when you read it). The only downside is that by my reckoning, there won't be another one released for a couple of years yet.

Are the compendiums literally just the comics collected into a single book?

I looked a while ago, briefly, for the comics and it seemed to collect them all would be rather expensive.. Compendium 1 is like £30 delivered - worth picking up?

If you go to the official site Compendium 3 should be coming this winter. Yes, I'd say worth picking up, I paid £59 for the two delivered. Id you don't feel they were worth it they'd probably fetch nearly that on eBay in good nick.

I'm still only just at the farm in the comics.
