The start was more interesting than the rest.

I didn't expect there would be a market for buying designer used men's swimwear. yuck
Made me feel all happy to see some con-artists/drug-dealers get their comeuppance and have their 'valued' possessions' sold off. Was also nice to see some of the victims getting a share of the monies back too.
It would have been good to hear what the old lady got back at the end. I bet in was pennies once all the debts and fees were all covered.

I thought there was compelling evidence to back up the painting being genuine. What were the reasons that it wasn't, I must have missed that bit.

The 'experts' seemed to think the brushstrokes' weren't strong enough and that it was perhaps by an understudy, or some such.
My feelings on the painting are much the same as yours - when first they appraised the painting (if I remember correctly) only one of them thought it a copy due to the walnut in the foreground. Strange then that it was shown that many of his paintings had walnuts in them, and that now all seemed to think it not worthy to be attributed to the artist.

We thought the same thing, it certainly looks authentic, but it didn't have any provenance, and that's a big problem.

No one likes to admit they're wrong, and in this instance admitting that the painting is authentic could well have caused them issues with their competence.

Sadly it looks like tonight's episode is the last in the current series. Only 4 episodes in this series for some reason.

Either worth £0.5m or up to £10m. There’s a lot to play for with this one.

As cool as the owner plays it, he must be on tender hooks here.

FTFY
Tenterhooks aren't the hooks used by butchers, as the common misspelling 'tenderhooks' might suggest. A tenter is a wooden frame, often in the form of a line of fencing, used to hang woollen or linen cloth to prevent it from shrinking as it dries

Thank you, sir. I would normally blame it on autocorrect but I didn’t know that.

That’s such a decent reply, I feel bad for correcting it now.
