Reading a few rumours that Dune will be re done. Re done? Given the justice it deserves.

Never really saw it doable as a film though, more a long series.

I quite like the David Lynch version, it would have been good to see a director's cut of the film.

I don't really rate any of Villeneuve's films, no doubt he'll impose his own interpretation on Herbert's loopy philosophy which will irritate people who've read the books and utterly confuse anyone that hasn't.

There is an extended version of it, but I wouldn't call it the Director's Cut as it is credited as being directed by Alan Smithee, which is "an official pseudonym used by film directors who wish to disown a project". So quite possibly the polar opposite of a Director's Cut. smile

Personally I preferred the TV series though the lack of budget really showed. The film distorted the book somewhat. Problem is the situation at the time of the book and why and so on and so on and I understand they did not want to end up with a film that was Ninja's in the sand.

David Lynch definitely does not want anything to do with a Director's Cut of Dune, or indeed anything to do that involves revisiting Dune.

This week a reboot of Halloween but at least it will be Jamie Lee Curtis.

But I cannot see it having the same atmosphere as the original and the great music / effects

Halloween H20 in 1998 with JLC was not a success. Neither was Halloween: Resurrection from 2002 also with JLC.

So don't hold your breath on this one.

H20 - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120694/
Resurrection - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0220506/

That article seems to be suggesting that this project may have died a death.

Hitchikers Guide may be getting another outing with the original radio cast, on radio.

http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2017-10-12/original...

Given the diverse ways the series was scripted, and written, not as mortified as I should be?

e.g. the radio scripts vs the books vs the TV series vs the film.

It’s the sixth radio series, based on the book "And another thing..." by Eoin Colfer, so a continuation rather than a reboot.

The latest attempt to remake The Crow is no more. This one was going to be directed by Corin Hardy and have Jason Momoa as The Crow, both of them have left a month before filming was going to start.

https://www.slashfilm.com/the-crow-remake-dead/

Hardy has posted a picture showing Momoa in the make up https://twitter.com/corinhardy/status/100264794149...

I really like the original film, I hope this remake is really really gone now, and they don't try again with other people.

How is this a reboot or remake?

It's actually quite good, very different take on the story compared to the book/film.

I'm still waiting for Flash Gordon, but with Melissa McCarthy or Amy Schumer.
