What's the obsession with such nonsense?

Hadn't played the game before. Don't know why it escaped me but after watching the 1st episode on TV I ordered a copy of the remastered game for the PS4 and started it this morning. Felt I knew most of it after watching the 1st episode and am now going to play the game alongside the TV series.

Even if you're not a gamer it's pretty obvious what it's about.

I've never played TLOU but I know what the game is about.
The brief blurb I saw said it was about apocalypse, end of humanity etc. Doesn't mean zombie nonsense. Thought it might be like The Last Ship, or that programme years ago with the survivors in a train tunnel after a nuclear fallout.

You probably didn't know Game of thrones had any dragons in there either.
Obviously, given I've never watched GoT.

What did you think it was going to be about?
See my reply two above.

I’m enjoying it but it seems to be a carbon copy of the game. Just a re-enactment and little in the way of creativity.

That's not an issue for those of us who haven't played the game.

Small point of note but they aren't zombies, they are infected humans.

The fungus is actually a real one that effects ants. It was featured in a Radio 4 programme yesterday.

Couldn't get into the game and didn't get far through it before it got put to one side and left alone but enjoying this so far even if its not the kind of thing I would normally watch

Last Train with Nicola Walker? Remember that when it first aired - don't recall it being shown again for a while now

Feel thrilled that I have never played the game so wont spend the whole time knowing whats what.
They spent some money and gave the fx people enough time to render detailed scenes rather than bland small town nothing like in walking dead.
Seems to be no writers that gets paid by the word and fill the show with blathering nonsense like on st shows like andor.
Another vicarious thrill for those with a cellar full of baked beans, guns and band aids. Must be a hell of a lot of them going by the endless supply of this type of show.

The game had a cracking story and characters so even something of a straight adaption to the TV series genre would be pretty good.

However, they seem to be adding stuff like filling in the backstory which is very interesting and I'm sure there will be new or remixed plot threads (a la Walking Dead).

They could still get it wrong but based on the first two eps plus the preview of the third one, https://youtu.be/6ttQYmeRsYo , they look to be on the right track.

They actually had the PS4 remastered version as a monthly PS Plus title a few years back ... haven't played it as I'd done the game on PS3 but it's been long enough now (and with the TV series) that I feel the urge to install it and give it a go.

I agree it's not a copy of the game, it's the game + more.

You have to remember if they went way off piste a large target market of gamers that have a soft spot for the last of us would be spewing. I think their approach to it has been spot on.
