The editing was so fast and the camera shots so shaky during the fight scenes you couldn't tell what was going on.
Phew! I thought it was just me getting old. I couldn't see what was happening. Even though I was right at the back of the cinema I still felt too close to the screen.

It's meant to be like that; it's meant to be confusing, it's artistic. It reflects that the fight itself is confusing and not choriographed at all. It's brutal and fast paced and it makes you feel like you are there.

Overall I enjoyed the film, but felt it was just a bunch of action sequences loosely linked together with a very vague plot.
I find the product placement quite intrusive as well.

Have to say we had the problem in following the edited scenes and feel the need to see the film again or buy the dvd for this reason (or is this clever marketing?)
But we thoroughly enjoyed the film, particularly the different 'take' on the Bond character.
Thoroughly enjoyed the film. Not as good as Casino Royale, but then that was very good indeed.
I like that we are seeing the development of Bond's character. He is a rough diamond that might polish up to more suaveness as the run of films goes on, but he is still far from the finished article. Bond has only been a double-oh for a few days in this story.
Best bit for me was when M takes Bond 'off the case' and he is escorted out by the two British security guys. The look she gives when she sees him again a few moments later is brilliant; superb acting. The relationship between M and Bond is far more developed in the Craig films than in any of the previous films and I read somewhere that this may be developed even further in the future.
If anybody would like a tour of the 'decaying tropical dump' where the 'Port au Prince waterfront' and the 'downtown Bolivia' scenes were filmed give me a shout, it's where I live.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Saw this on Friday night.
I really enjoyed it, I see what you mean about the plot lacking in real substance, but from a girly point of view the real story was bonds struggle with himself, his emotions and his inability to deal with vespers betrayl. However this is a pretty big shift from the traditional twists and turns of a 'normal' bond film, and a lot more subtle. I personally think Daniel Craig faied to deliver on the ranges of emotion the plot required him to display.
But really, he didn't shag Camille (who was stunning IMO) and that for me is how every good bond film should end.

I managed to see the movie on Friday night. First critisms are the fact there were far too many Fords in the film, it might as well have been a Ford advert! Also, because I didn't watch Casino Royale on the day I watched the new film the plot was somewhat confusing. So next time i will watch them both to understand it more.
As well as that the plot moved along too quickly, there was never anytime to take a mental note of what was happening.
Overall, I've seen better Bond movies.

I was gutted at the paltry 6 seconds of the aston, I think I saw more alfa than anything else. Although if they were going to pick "a normal car" to chase the AM in, I was please it was at least a car lovers car.
Emm, you missed out a car, fight, car, fight, boat, plane, guns, fights, gratuitious vagina shot, guns, expolisions, cars, snog.
There, that's about right yes?

(b) Girl watching - just watching major hunk on screen will do ta
Right, I watched this again today - quality film and great cinematography. The way the action scenes are juxtaposed beside the horse racing and especially the opera are especially effective.
However, I still can't work out why at the beginning Bond saves Camille from the General but then hands her to some seemingly random character when he comes off the boat?
I thought he had saved her as he wanted to "pump her for information" but he doesn't do this. Also, it couldn't have been to save her as it seems a bit risky handing an unconscious good looking lass like that to a random punter.
Any thoughts?
