Adverts that make you wanna smash your TV set up. (Vol 2)
Discussion
The current Deliveroo advert, not because of the annoying woman but I believe that it’s false advertising
It says on the bottom that you have to make separate orders from different restaurants, so if you actually wanted a Wagamama and a burger king and a Greek salad, that’s 3 orders, which would be collected by 3 delivery drivers and then wouldn’t come at once in one bag as the advert portrays.

Quite right. kitchens cooking many different takeaway types all under one roof.
Saw an ad for the InDeed job app earlier.
Evidently with just a simple click or two on the app a single dad manages to appease his daughter by lining up a brand new job just down the road, with a pay rise, instead of the job he'd already been offered - which would have meant having to move his daughter to another part of the country, change school, result in her losing all her friends, etc, etc.
And this within seconds of his daughter storming to her bedroom in a strop & slamming the bedroom door on him - yep, that's realistic - although i think the ad does briefly flash up the usual "sequences shortened" disclaimer to cover them off
kitchens cooking many different takeaway types all under one roof.Joe Lycett did a fantastic piece on his comedy show on C4 earlier in the year showing how easy it was to set up & retail on those apps. His takeaway was based out of a skip in the middle of an industrial construction yard The best bit was when the delivery drivers actually turned up to collect the food from the orders that came in and didn't even bat an eyelid or question what was going on when they found a bloke dressed as a chef standing in a skip

I complained to the ASA once about a Very catalogue advert. It was a winter one with the idea that you brought the summer inside. Lilos in the lounge etc. All well and good but for the woman BBQing in the house.... Not sure why Very didn't realise this was a potentially fatal plan but the ASA pulled the ad immediately and after that the indoor BBQ scene was cut.

Good call, a girl at the school my wife works at died after having a disposable barbecue in a tent, tragic, so its a good idea to pull that bit and not put it out there that using a barbecue indoors is a valid thing to do.
Tragic, and a surprising amount of people just don't realise.I actually found a 'behind the scenes' of the advert (the original seems to have been pulled from Youtube as well) and there she is, happily behind her BBQ. I cant believe it got as far as airing without someone saying 'hold on'.

I am no huge fan of Liam Gallagher, finding him an uncouth, unkempt yob who is still mastering the art of walking without scraping his knuckles on the ground.
However, for Renault to subject Wonderwall to the breathy, a capella treatment is a moist heinous crime, for which all involved should be staked to the ground, peeled, and sprinkled with salt.

Along with the mother of the kid who draws on her parents' faces when they're heavily drugged in the Nat West ads.
Perhaps we need a new thread - "MILFs in adverts"
