I thought I was going to hate it, I really did. I sat down on Sunday evening, a little apprehensive at what kind of garbage I was potentially about to witness.

I was pleasantly surprised to find it was actually okay. It wasn't perfect by any stretch but, I think this trio might have the potential to be very watchable Sunday night TV. Even PM didn't annoy me half as much as I thought he would - the warm water bit genuinely made me chuckle.

Freddy possibly needs to tone down his 'ladishness' by a notch or two but, once the two newbies settle in and become a bit more confident in the studio presenting segments, I can see this becoming a show I actually look forward to again.

Same here. I haven't watched it since the first couple of episodes with Evans, but I'm back looking forward to Sunday nights.

I think you're looking at something different. The question was about a yellow Ferrari/McLaren-ish car in the trailer, which was the Dallara.

Possibly, I was only looking at the photo given in the post, talking at cross purposes maybe.

Your pic isn't a LaF.

What's happened to Extra Gear this season? I thought Rory was going to still be doing it.

Comments section funnier than the show itself.

"He's about as funny as The Moors Murders."

Extra Gear will no longer be a traditional formatted show, but a banner for behind the scenes footage and extra content. It will be available to watch online.

it was better than i was expecting, because you could believe this trio were real mates, even though you knew it was a TV Tinder date laugh I did like that.

Agree, twaddle.

Two blokes who are not petrol-heads (just made a bit and could buy some)....weak, lacking in anything other than mucking about.....total twaddle.

Yep. As above, it's no longer being shown later on Sunday night on BBC2 as it had been more recently. It's reverted back to being online only content via the iPlayer.

Lots of pieces in the media this week gushing about the show to the extent that they should have an advertisement warning attached to them.
The piece in the Metro was especially blatant, if the comments section is anything to go by it looks like the readers have seen past it.

paddy is quite a funny guy. He's never tried to be a stand-up comedian as far as I am aware.
He started his career doing stand-up, it's how he met Peter Kay and ended up in Phoenix Nights.

Have you read this thread or other forums you are on? It may come as a surprise, but a lot of people genuinely liked it.

I don't understand why some people need to try and hammer home their opinion, and call for it to be axed, just because they didn't like it whilst ignoring all those who did.

We will repeat the same cycle with the same people every episode of the series.

I was pleasantly suprised - the three of them seemed more natural, at ease with each other and coherent than the previous trio.

A good sprinkling of humour throughout with some genuinely funny moments; some interesting insights in to their personal lives too.

They struck the right balance between car content, travel/scenery and banter to appeal to a wide cross-section of the public, similar to what Clarkson et al did in the glory years.

Well done lads, looking forward to the rest of the series.
