If you really want your gob smacked, check the prices of 21-window and 23-window splits...
Yeah, I know. Mind boggling isn't it but, didn't want to oversell the point. hehe

I bought a year old bay window back in 73(last of the rounded bumpers). Part ex'ed it in 78 and still managed to recouped all of the purchase price. Looking back, it's a great shame that I didn't hang on to it frown but, living in London and parking being at a premium thought it the sensible option.

ot half! All that fake horror that a 1966 VW bus, from Canada, was rusty. They should have headed south for about 2500 miles if they didn't want to rebuild the entire bottom half.
I though that bus was pretty solid as far as old busses go! UK/european ones you can start cutting back the rust in the front clip, only to arrive at the rear bumper mounts having not found ANYTHING solid to start from............... ;-)

Supposedly makes for better television, doesn't it? The 'accidents' are genuinely the only reason why i watch this program, just for a good laugh.

Exactly - its classic cars on telly and bit of a laugh along the way to pad it out.

Last night was the first time I started watching early enough to notice the disclaimer at the start re 'Engineered incidents' hehe

...Loved the plumes of smoke coming from under the body when they were heating to hub up!

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about restoration, but isn't the general rule "don't worry about the engine, that can be rebuilt, it's the body that needs to be in good nick"? So if these 2 jokers are "experts", how come they ignored the maxim? I suppose it just came down to availability.

The narrator used that dreaded word "minivan". God, how I hate it. Must be the need to make the show acceptable on both sides of the Atlantic.

It does say at the beginning of the programme(in small text)something along the lines of "The work is undertaken by professionals, however some scenes are engineered for entertainment."

So the geezers don't really use lump hammers to remove nuts and bolts?

I wouldn't want to win one of those cars if the standard of work is anything like that shown.

Didn't understand why they kicked the front windows out as they seemed ok then retrofitted the safari windows (?) noticed there was no windscreen wipers fitted at the end although the holes were there and there was a mysterious hole in the back just above the left hand tail light?
