Just had the DVD pop though the letterbox, I remember this being a cracking thriller. only 6.5 on IMDB
"A woman framed for her husband's murder suspects he is still alive; as she has already been tried for the crime, she can't be re-prosecuted if she finds and kills him". Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0150377/?ref_=nv_sr_s...

It’s an easy watch and TLJ is as excellent as ever.

Oppenheimer

Not feeling it, it’s pretty slow and dull, I find the score off putting, too.

I haven’t finished it, but will probably return to it at some point.

Yes, it's one of those films that I always watch when I see it's on, despite having seen it many times. The ex Mrs Franchitti is actually quite good in it too.

Ashley had some good roles and did well in them, Weinstein screwed her career somewhat when she told him to fk off.

Hopefully she is recovering better from her nasty leg break in Africa, she was in a not great way for a while.

It was a grossly overhyped movie in my opinion. It appeared like a movie spliced together consisting purely of trailers for the movie in question. We all like different things though thankfully, but I was very disappointed with it. So much so myself and wife left the IMAX after an hour. That hour was torture though.

Nobody (Currently on Channel 4 on demand).

A gritty action film starring the actor who plays Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), and Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future fame. An easy plot (former agent turned family man gets dragged back into his former life) and an easy watch - which hits the mark for me on action movies and therefore it gets a solid 8 action punches out of 10 fire explosions.

I've been laid up with a stinking cold all weekend, so I've got through a few films I hadn't seen before.

Amadeus - director's cut. I like films that show me something a bit different, and a film about Mozart is as different as it gets for me. I enjoyed the story, but at three hours it was literally twice as long as it should have been. I thought it would have more humour in it.

Dirty Harry. A classic. The storey is quite simple, but the grittiness and apparent realism was very appealing. I think this might be the first Clint Eastwood film I've ever seen since cop films and westerns aren't my usual thing. I think I will add a few more Eastwood films to my list.

Lethal Weapon. Watching it after Dirty Harry, it seemed a bit daft and intended to appeal to teenagers. It's odd and not very nice to hear a hero character using slurs like "fag" and "chin", but I suppose they are appropriate for the period.

Ffs snowflake alert. Best then to avoid ALL films made before 2010… I mean Jesus Christ.

Scoop - Netflix

Dramatisation of the Prince Andrew BBC interview and the journalists who made it happen. This gets good reviews but although it started quite well and it had good performances from its cast I found it pretty dull.

Dune 2 - enjoyed Dune 1, and enjoyed the one made back in the 90s - and this was visually great, but missed a beat for me with the 2 main characters - wont talk much here for spoiler reasons, so will just say , its was a 6/10 from (Dune 1 was 8.5/10 for me)
worth the watch for sure.

anyone heard if they are going to cut it into 1 big 4k disc?

I actually rewatched that about 6 months or so ago. I loved it when it first came out and it was great on the cinema big screen (yep, I am that old) but it's not aged well. Eastwood has actually made very few duds (looking at you, Every Which Way But Loose) either as an actor or a director and it is a VERY long list.

I'll take a look thanks. I forgot about Firefox, I think I saw that a long time ago.

Calm down. This isn't NP&E.

Blazing Saddles is an anti-bigotry film. It's not bad, but given the hype surrounding it, I thought it would be funnier.

They got lighter and more comedic in the later ones but the original Lethal Weapon is very much not a film intended for teens.

It's a proper well written classic and dark in a way none of the sequels were.

There are some scenes missing from the film.
