Well, the results are in - and it looks like Option B is the winner!

I also would have voted C myself, and YouTube aren't especially clear about metrics beyond view time - but this was the clear winner.

I can't take credit for this but the best thing of all is driving a fast car fast.
True...but that kinda only applies to race tracks exclusively. And even then...you do need the right car.

That 450,000 mile Tesla on the AutoAlex channel is insanely impressive. The condition and wear and tear is amazing.

Thumbnail b would have been my choice as it has all the elements for a good TN: subject/impact/emotion

Exactly. They will get a few cheap "how far will my EV go?" videos out of it, where they get most of the major facts wrong. There will undoubtedly be a clip where they 'accidentally' run out of electricity, and shriek a bit at each other. Then it will disappear from the channel and appear at Taylor's dealership for sale. It's really low-rent content these days, rinsed and repeated by the other two on that new channel of theirs.
And yet you still watch them all.

Did you watch the whole video? The longer it went on the more obvious it was well worn! Water ingress in lots of places, the bonnet worn or cut away because of the wiper blades, suspension play, and he never really said how poor the battery was but suggesting about 100 - 120 miles range from a full charge?

Thing is shagged.

On the battery they obviously said nothing specific so they could get an episode out of the range thing. He said he got 100 miles out of an overnight charge on a normal plug, which is about right. Nothing to do with the actual range. As for the suspension play thing, it was a bit of movement in one joint. Hardly worth mentioning and probably only an mot advisory. No idea what your car is like if you think that one is shagged.

I agree yeah, and the wiper cutaway is clearly just a previous bodge job rather than something that happened due to the mileage.

Indeed. and the crappy lights and water leaks would be as likely to happen on a low mileage car of the same age ('66' plate wasn't it? so 8 years old).

Twin Engine Corsa channel, not sure it's even been mentioned on here yet. But the guy (supposidly) bullt it himself and has spent time of his channel souriing other interestig clars and helping or reporting them where he can. Seems really genuine and uncovers some cool / different 'older' cars.
He did his name on the forum days is Beardy. Been building silly things for years
I watch him and I like what he has on his channel, the Renault 5 Maxi Turbo clone a few videos was great!

I always have to turn the volume up for his channel though. May be he needs a better mic?

Nice to seen Monky London back yesterday. He's not had a video out for a while.

I'm really surprised they don't just give CTR. I guess view time % considers the type of viewer you're attracting too which is clever.

I emailed them again asking for it and they said no 😭

Alex's Tesla is a bit of a bargain. To get it down from 13 to under 9 is good going and like he said there's plenty around with 6, 7, 800000 on the clock.

Looked remarkably tidy for a 450k Taxi.
I struggle with something that age and with 450k on it can be called a bargain @ £9k.

Sorry but £9k for me would be something a lot newer and less miles.

Plus people are glossing over the fact that a battery failure will write the car off.

I've not heard the podcast yet but a few people said. Very kind of Sam to mention me, very surprising as we've kinda fallen out of touch since I moved to the USA and I really don't know much about cars compared to a lot of car youtubers, but happy for the thought!

I think he said there is nearly a year left on the battery warranty (8 years - assume that is unlimited mileage??) and he wants to try and thrash it so if it fails he will try and claim on it.biggrin That would be about the most interesting bit of content he could get from it.

Jayemm, are you seriously going to spend £15K restoring an old MG ZR?

If you really want one, would it not just be cheaper and easier to buy another one in decent condition?

You can't make a series of videos about buying a car in decent condition.
That.
Plus as he says, it’s a very rare spec and colour version so chances of finding another identical spec one could be slim.

Surprised at the rust given the mileage.
The Lexus style rear lights need to stay though, that’s a proper 05-10 era mod and needs kept.

This https://databox.com/improve-youtube-ctr and many other articles suggest CTR is/was available. Is it not any more?
