Table 9, on Sky Movies last night, quite enjoyed it, at least a 6/10 smile
This is confusing, there is a table 19 that I watched recently on Sky Movies but there is also a film called Table 9. Was this Anna Kendrick or were you are one of the cooler tables?
Oh, now I'm a little confused, I went to check the title before I posted, but, it's not listed today?

It had Stephen Merchant in it.
In that case I think it's table 19. Table at a wedding and the crazy one from Friends?

Wizard of Lies.

About the Bernie Madoff scandal.

Very good, 9/10.

"Three Billboards" last night.

Bloody excellent.

I had been really looking forward to watching this and it didn't disappoint.
Superb acting from the whole cast, Rockwell especially.

If you haven't seen it yet, you're missing out.

9/10

Off to see that next week. Thought the trailers looked great.

Saw "Den of thieves" last night. A pretty by the numbers cop and crim film, which despite some decent acting, wasn't really very good. Too long with a few too many plot ideas that don't go anywhere.

I fancied a smile later but £7.99 on prime FFS!

That would get me 20 miles in my TVR. smile

One from the past following a rummage through my DVD drawer last night
Local Hero - a wonderful film, undoubtedly in my all-time top 20.

The Darkest Hour
Gary Oldman puts in a career best performance as Churchill, absolutely outstanding acting and would be a worthy Oscar winner, however I found the film rather dull, dimly lit and the factual content veered into the realms of fantasy toward the end when a British Prime Minister travels alone on the tube to meet the great British public, there really was no need for that and spoiled the film.

Phantom Thread

Fabulous moody 1950s period piece. Daniel Day-Lewis is predictably excellent 8/10

Not a film so much as a documentary, I watched Sidemen on BBC4 last night.

About musicians that have spent years touring and performing with major bands (Rolling Stones, Bowie, Prince etc yet aren't part of the band per se and then dropped until needed again.

Very interesting.

"Three Billboards" yesterday. An absolutely riveting and beautifully made film, a powerful and redemptive tale. My wife, usually less observant, spotted that Dixon was Wild Bill in "The Green Mile" nearly 20 years ago, so is well able to play the part of a vicious retard - but now with a difference.

Just watched Coco

Brilliant. Disney nearly always does an excellent job with their animated films, and this is up there with the best. I'll definitely see it again before it stops screening.

A lay down misere for Best Supporting Actor this year you’d think. But the entire cast of that movie were brilliant.

The Cloverfield Paradox on Netflix. Urgh, a cheaply produced movie and so much is lifted from other great films we turned it off half way through.

A Mountain Between Us- watched 45 minutes and really started to wish they both would fall off a cliff and that would be the end of it. Not a Winslet fan and not sure about Elba. Again, switched it off and found something else to do.

Score for both 1/10
