I prefer BCS now to BB. Tbh we're just lucky they've done this. It may be slower paced but the detail and storylines have a lot more depth. Keeps you guessing anyway. Probably as the producers get more experienced too.
Walt was a murderous prick looking back.

Tiny little highlight for me was Gus giving the chicken fryer basket a very quick inspection when he picked it up :-)

He ended up a murderer, yes - but the wonder of BB is how , and why , he became one.fro his origin as a mild , put upon and sick teacher It is also how , ultimately , the viewer can accept that WW's eventual role as murderer was an entirely logical choice

. In the classical sense , a tragedy is the decline of great man because of a fatal flaw and , to me , BB satisfies that description as well as a Shakesperian tragedy .

That said , BCS remains magnificent

I think I need to pay more attention because some of these characters are catching me off guard.

Has that CEO had any introduction in BCS at all so far? I can't even remember how that corp fits into Frings organisation.

If you're referring to the German? outfit they were introduced in BB. Equipment / material suppliers and meth dealers to Czech Rep iirc. Someone more geeky will correct and add to that probably.

Yes, I couldn't remember him either though I did remember the brunette crumpet (I think but can't recall in what role)

I think she’s something to do with Mikes payroll in BB? I can’t remember.

Ok had chance to research. The brunette crumpet is Lydia, executive in Houston office of German company Madrigal Electromotive. Her role was introduced in BB as supplier of methylamine as one of the raw materials for Walt's crystal meth. But she's also involved with Gus' Los Pollos Hermanos somehow as she also gets involved in the distribution of crystal meth.

Schuler the German CEO is the head of Madrigal's hospitality division, which owns Los Pollos Hermanos as one of their fast food chains and is the owner of all the US franchises. They are also the manufacturer of various bits of the kit in the laundry basement meth lab.

If you want more info
Madrigal
Lydia
Schuler

Find it incredible that people spend time writing all this crap on the internet, but if it wasn't for them it would be difficult to find obscure stuff out on long running series.

She has a proper Scottish accent, not that you'd know from watching her in BB/BCS. Pretty impressive.

It is absolutely fantastic. I'd agree it's now eclipsed it's origins - you can't wait to see what happens next and why Kim disappears from the story.

It’s those little touches that make this series great. That tiny piece made me laugh.

Personally I prefer this to Breaking Bad.

I like how they are teasing it out.

Agreed on this and all the above. I was going to list a couple of weeks back that there’s something greater about this than BB. Having said that, once BCS is over I’ll definitely do BB again!

Bonus of this situation is that I've successfully introduced the missus to BB - only took "Pilot". Now I get to do the whole lot again with BCS on the side.
I'll go straight into El Camino at the conclusion of BB having ignored the film since release.

BB/BCS side by side - the aging of the actors is very obvious, cannae be helped. I just ignore it and enjoy the show.

In the scene where Kim and Saul are on the bed in the dark discussing the cartel, I couldn’t help feeling that Kim looked awfully like Debbie Harry (of Blondie fame).

I miss Chuck, he was such a crucial role in the story, played really well too.

I liked the earlier BB, by the end Walter had become almost a comedic parody (you can tell I'm not a TV critic) of himself. Was far too silly.

But BCS is way ahead of it in my opinion. It has a wonderful pace and is the only series I've ever watched/binged twice. If anything it's better second time around. So many subtle nods missed the first time through. I laughed at what was happening and what I knew was coming.

Very clever TV.
