likewise, WD is enjoyable only because I can FFWD through the adverts and the following 60 second repeat of the highlights of a programme I watched 5 minutes ago!!
Sometimes I will FFWD through the entire first section of Mike buying the car and start at the potted summary after the first advert break. smile

Episode 2 is apparently a Volvo PV544 which is one of these (this is not the WD one):

...Sadly, Volvo only made them in LHD which puts me off a bit - think there are 2 RHD conversions in the UK...
Which was odd, because Sweden drove on the left until 1967.

If it was me I'd have kept the original wheels and not lowered it, looks a bit pimped to me when it isn't that kind of car. Very nice though.

Loved that episode, maybe wouldn't have lowered it, but still a cracking looking motor.

Wonder what the hood was like? Was never seen. Steering wheel looked a bit scabby too.

Format changes are for the better I think. Not sure what they've done with the filming, though - it looks different on my TV, and not in a good way. Kind of jerky, maybe? Hard to describe!

Watched the new one then flicked over to 524 which has one of the first episodes on. Porsche 924. Say what you like, the boys have done well!

I thought that E1 was going to be a Mustang but instead blurb said MB (haven't watched it yet)?

Quite enjoyed tonight's episode - I had a bit of a sinking feeling when it opened with scripted banter, but it soon picked up.

Never been a fan of those Merc convertibles though... I always imagine that they were/are driven by arrogant old ladies, wrapped in a mink coat and with a horrible yapping dog tucked under a flabby arm. The sort of dreadful person who'd say "don't you know who my husband is?" at any given opportunity.

Anyway (and possible alcohol-fueled personal prejudice aside), I thought they did a good job on the car... was interesting to see Edd's timing chain replacement method, and the removal of the front sub frame part looked like a hell of a job.

Good stuff from the WD team as always.

Checking Autotrader a 560SL only 2 available in the UK one looks just like the I sorted US one and nearly £30k....

Loved the show tonight end result really good - not sure if have lowered it that much but the ride height grew on me quickly.

Can't believe how Americanised they have made Wheeler Dealers. I know it's produced by Velocity now but it's just not as good since they started doing them from the US of A.

Every element of production is straight out of American TV Presenting for Dummies.

I preferred it when they were doing rusty old British Classics from a dingy rural industrial unit up a muddy dirt track.

Another show the Yanks have ruined. Can you imagine Fast N Loud coming to the UK and doing it the British way, of course not.

Was there a bit of rubber bodged onto the front bumper where the number plate would normally go?

I enjoyed that episode, thought the alternative MB wheels looked great.

Seems they listened and got rid of some of the background music from the previous US series?

I have got an R107 they are ace.

The 560 was not sold in the UK and the engine was somewhat crippled for emissions reasons so a Euro spec 500 offers very similar performance.

I have done the subframe job without the benefit of a lift, I used a technique something like someone lying on the floor balancing a ball on their feet. That said it wasn't too bad. Also the first time I have watched WD and actually own one of the specialist tools that Edd uses.

Yeah, finally after about 12 years they have realised that time = money.

Maybe you missed the American Revolution.
