Au contraire Jon. You've posted 58 times in this thread and they've all been negative. It would appear that anyone who actually lliked the film gets told time and time again why it was crap by yourself and a couple of others.
58 times Jon......on a thread about a film you don't like ...
By comparison he's merely passing through.
Blimey, you actually went to the effort of counting up my posts? 58 times Jon......on a thread about a film you don't like ...
By comparison he's merely passing through.
Sorry if my posts seemed negative. I actually thought we were having an interesting debate about the plot points, but if that's the way I've come across then I sincerely apologise.

Did we receive a satisfactory explanation as to why an alien queen is shown on the doors to the control room, yet the alien at the end appears to be an earlier variant? Or is it not an earlier version and merely different because is was 'born' from an engineer?
Its not a 'queen' as far as i am aware...merely a xenomorph from the original Alien film. Ridleys film does not tie into Aliens at all.Summary of the differences between the original (non-Lindelof) script and the actually film for those who don't have the time to read the Spaihts script:

Update
Prometheus 2
Star Noomi Rapace discusses the status of Ridley Scott's planned Prometheus sequel:
They're working on the script. I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago. I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It's just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will... I love working with Ridley. It was pure joy. It was really hard work sometimes. My body was a complete mess – I had bruises and cuts and emotionally I was a bit slammed. But being in his world and his universe was such an amazing experience.
"And it's interesting because people, most people I've talked to who see the movie, see things that are quite different. Some people who see the movie many times and discover new things. There are all these religious aspects and there are very interesting conversations. And for me, if we do a second one, there are a lot of things to explore in there and to continue. I would love to do it."

Take away some of the visual spectacle and Fastbender's performance, and it falls very short of the hype and promotion and potential.
take those away, and what you have is a film of amateur film-makers proportions.Uni students could likely produce a better film than what we all had the displeasure of sitting through
However its also true that take away certain parts of ANY film and what you're left with is dire.
Take away the Krypton part of Man of Steel and what you're left with is a st version of Transformers 3 - if such a thing is possibe.

sounds a bit like the starwars franchise.
IMHO: Not really. The Alien Universe as imagined/fashioned by Geiger's bizarre sculptures and creature was always a far more intiguing/foreboding place than the Star Wars universe where they actually have realised its full potential.Heads up...
