Was Springsteen being booed on a couple of occasions, particularly when he walked out?
I did wonder that myself.... Certainly sounded like it!
Has he been openly supportive of something/one controversial?
Its from the old days of his concerts , they are shouting Bruuuuce , it just sounds like booo..

Your super special alternative for either?

It isn't earth shattering, but it could be far worse. Sound engineers should have a word with themselves though.
Yes! He's much better on the piano mic.
It really is a bit of a bugbear of mine, both when there and watching on TV. Noel Gallagher sounded weak until he was pushing, Grohl sounded similar and you have an 80 yr old who was never Tom Jones to start off with. You need to focus a bit more on the vocals.

Otherwise, for those that think this is terrible, I once had the misfortune of Bob Dylan as the name. Now that was hard work. Equally, on the other side of the fence, James Brown bow.

Christ there’s some miserable sods on here. Yes his voice is long gone but we’re watching one of the all time greats in music performing at what is likely his swan song from a home turf audience size perspective. I suspect being there in person tonight would be quite a special experience.

Bear in mind he also did a 25 song set last night too! If I’m still that active at 80 I’ll be very grateful!

I thought that was very impressive. The weak links were the special guests.

The encore was weak until Lennon appeared onscreen and Helter Skelter was better done by Siouxsie and the Banshees

Should have done Jet!

Anyway, enjoyed it, well done Macca.

I'll give h8m his due, he's buggered the BBC1 schedule that thought he'd be done by 0030.

Just wound it back - did sound like it but I presumed they were calls of ‘Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce’ rather than boos?

Edit - bit late to the party on that answer laugh

Unrelated, sort of, why is he wearing a woman's waistcoat?

Same reason all his guitars point in the 'wrong' direction?

Because he's left-handed?

Just a guess like. TBH dunno how you tell the waistcoat and assumed it buttoned the other way and maybe preferable to a left hander.

Outstanding performance. It would have been an honour to have been there. I have a friend who is there and he sent me a text that said he is struggling to process what he witnessed there tonight.

If he died tomorrow, he can be very proud of that.

I hope he doesn't....

Yes. I'm glad I saw it, even on TV

Re Macca, firstly I'm just glad we could enjoy the whole set. Seem to remember a Saturday night headliner where the Beeb couldn't broadcast much of it due to some copyright pish. If I was going to watch one thing this year it was this, for better or worse & so glad I did, certainly made me forget about all the crap in the world for over 2 and a half hours.

Hopefully the I-Player content will be up for a few weeks so I can catch a bit more of Glasto, need to see if Sleaford Mods are on there.

Me too. A defining moment in the twilight of his career.

Sure his voice may not have the same range as 60 years ago, but for what he and his mates did for music, I’ll happily see him perform substandard shows for years to come. Not that I consider tonight’s performance to be substandard.

The other half couldn’t take the pace as she was out last night and still in recovery mode. That just means that I’ll have a good excuse to watch it again.

On balance, I think that was bloody amazing..!

As others have said, in 10-20 yrs from now, when people look back at that, they’ll realise how incredible it was.

Yes, his voice was a tad flaky, but he’s still got ‘it’. He truly is one of our finest musicians of the last 60 years.

Doubt he will ever do that again, so in that light….I say..bloody well done and thank you!
