Erm, I saw it on friday with my girlfriend and it was okay...

Wasn't really a proper Bond film though? Who was chasing him at the strt? We don't know. We might have been able to see if they actually filmed the chase properly.

What happened to Mr White? We don't know (although that leaves Bond to bring down the organisation at some point in another of the films).

Where was the evil super villian with his master plan that almost comes to fruition? No-where - Dominic Greene was rubbish as a villain.

It was so short as well.

All in all, it just seemed like a filler.
You are aware that the start of QoS was directly after the end of Casino Royale don't you? Mr White was seen in the audience at the opera, and he is part of the larger SPECTRE organisation. I assume he will be part of the upcoming films as well. maybe he'll be like a Blofeld who is there as a figurehead, but is mysterious? Who knows. The 'super-villain' is one of the reasons bond was getting crap. The ever more extravagant plots, and plans were getting silly. This was a very realistic plan to extort using water... realistic, and plausible. Much more in line with the modern global corporation and their methods? Either way, it was much better than the space ships, volcano bases, and invisible cars of past Bond films.

No it wasn't better than the old films.

And no I didn't realise that it was a direct carry on, I didn't think of that actually.

The "it wasn't better" is subjective. Just trying to fill in the 'problems' you had with the film.

Saw it last night. Nowhere near as bad as I was expecting, but I still left the cinema feeling I hadn't seen a Bond film. The only Bondian moments were when Bond is at the opera and messes up the bad guy's little negotiation and when he evades his fellow agents in MI6. The rest is pure Bourne. The shaky-cam action sequences gave me a head-ache. To quote Ebert: "Bond is NOT an action hero!".

And how come it took Bond so long to overpower the weedy Greene, when in the rest of movie he could overpower whole SWAT teams with a slap?

Why did Greene scream like a schoolgirl every time he swung his axe at Bond? Quite odd.

Enjoyed it but agree that it was more Bourne than Bond. Opera scene was my favourite, I think.

Well, I'm a huge bond fan, was practically brought up watching bond cool

Anyways, Quantum Of Solace was a good enough film, but I didn't think it was quite as good as Casino Royale. I especially hated the camera movements in the action scenes - what's with all the darting about?

All that does is make the sequences less realistic, and reminds you that you're watching a film - rather than let you be immersed in what is going on.

I'm inclined to agree.

They tried to be a bit too clever and use too many action sequences. Then the touch screen crap going on in head office, WTF? Why did they change M's office when the film was supposed to follow on? Also the location being written on roads as cars drove by was just sad.

The last scene in the film was fantastic however thumbup. Just perfectly cold, brutal and efficient as you'd imagine a real assasination would be.

Saw it tonight, thought it was pretty gash all in all. A shame, as I enjoyed CR.

Just watched this on DVD today. It was so much better than I remember it being in the cinema! And I liked it in the cinema, too. Watching it for a second time really helped me focus more, without it all being a big blur. Loved it! biggrin Really recommend that those that didn't rate it give it a second chance, and that those that haven't seen it, do so! thumbup
