Seems very straight forward to me
If you like TG you'll like GT
If you liked bits of TG you'll like bits of GT
If you felt TG was getting a little tired and needed a refresh and thought GT was an opportunity to do this you may be disappointed
I think this pretty much sums it up!If you like TG you'll like GT

I think it would be fairly accurate that the staff and skills are there to make some really good stuff - that's part of what makes it frustrating with the latest episodes especially after a great start.
For their faults May Clarkson and Hammond are more than capable of making excellent television as has been seen many times on Top Gear and their other projects.
I blame whoever is coming up with the ideas, planning the episodes and writing the scripts; the tools and materials are fine but the craftsman is utterly useless.
Really can't disagree with that Guardian piece. It's being strangled by the bad ideas and scripting.

Absolutely. Could be great if they just stopped acting, and just talked.GetCarter said:

But I agree they need to realise 'less is more'

I was expecting it would be good, after the first episode I was hoping it would improve. It didn't. It will probably get me hung drawn and quartered here but it looks like the quality of Top Gear was down to the BBC, not the team. The in tent stuff is shockingly bad.
Part of me wants GT to crash and burn. The BBC seems to be the enemy in all of this. What were they supposed to do about assault at the workplace? Clarkson is the actual culprit but, just like everyone else that is elite in society (bankers, Trump, etc), he gets rewarded. Shaoxter said:
I just assumed the RS was Lava Orange as that's the launch colour...
Yup. It's Porsche GB (Reading) Press Car.johnxjsc1985 said:
I wonder if people no longer just sit back and enjoy TV. If you don't like it you don't have to watch it. It isn't a serious Car programme its a bit of light entertainment and last night was typical three amigos stuff and the hour went over quickly and next week I will do the same sit back and enjoy it. I watched the first Top Gear programme with Evans and thought it was awful and that was enough for me.
It is trying harder to involve a wider audience and as its Amazon backing it rather than the BBC that's understandable.
a) Anyone that says "if you don't like it don't watch it" is lacking somewhat the ability to see the point. See the poste earlier about football teams. Just cause your team is doing crap you don't abandon them. You put your views across and HOPE things improve. I guess in your mind, if a child came home with an "F" in Science you'd be kicking them out the house for good?It is trying harder to involve a wider audience and as its Amazon backing it rather than the BBC that's understandable.
b) I don't want a serious car programme and anyone that expects that is also sadly lacking. I want an ENTERTAINING show about cars.

I tend to agree. And I never thought I would. I'm no fan of the BBC it churns out 99.99% shtie. But every now and then it hits gold. Still don't like paying for a licence though
Anyhow,
GT3RS v M4GTS. Crap track aside, enjoyed it. But there were no shots of the lack of cubby holes. Not that I don't believe him. But a shot of them cut into his monologue is just part of telling a story. BBC CHM TG would have had that moment. There seems to be gaps as if they are using inexperienced people?
Is the GTS really that cack though? What does Harris think? (My benchmark in YouTube car review bloke)
Eco stuff.
Some proper belly laughs in there. But over long, felt slow and too over "acted"
Celeb bit? Come on!
TT stuff. Interesting actually and got the audience involved. Certainly better than the "Romanian powered car" from last week
So far.

I give a toss about what the Guardian thinks. You just crack on and enjoy your download without trying and failing to denigrate the finest free UK-based news website available.Who gives a toss what those idiots at the Guardian think?

Anyone else have 'lipsync' problems when watching TGT on a fire 4K on a normal HDTV? Every other Amazon program is fine.

Josh
