I thought it wasn't a particularly satisfying conclusion.

Plus a few weeks back jetpack fuel was a problem but today we see Axe Woves flying to orbit

Yeah I don't normally geek out about stuff like this, but that was glaring. See also obligatory 'protagonist throw'.

I enjoyed it. Suitably over the top and I particularly liked the batman tie fighter scene.

Might just have a bigger tank, he's part of a different Mandalorian group and equipment maybe made by a different armourer?

A bit like the nod to the Expanse in the first episode, anyone pick up on the LOTR nod? For GONDOR?!

Worst thing for me in this series is how grogu moves. It's just so... Thunderbirds hehe

I can't get too excited about jetpacks in a universe where city size ships float just above towns.

It's my entire gripe with this series. Grogu is barely better than a sock puppet and would have looked out of place in the original Star Wars movie in 1977.

Yeah, jumping on the lights was an absolute farce considering that he held back an inferno later on.

There were some silly bits, I think it dropped logic in some areas for the sake of the blockbuster feel. Jetpacking into orbit being one, another I noticed was when the Mandalorians were flying down into the cavern and fighting the troopers, one of them (maybe Bo-Katan) was rotating while fighting, so ended up with her jetpack boosters pointing down while she was still falling at the same speed, like the boosters weren't actually doing anything. Then there was the typical "turn down the opportunity to kill the protagonist when they're beaten to instead have 2 lowly guards escort them down some quiet corridor that they can easily escape from" laugh

Overall I enjoyed it, it was still better than Boba and Kenobi for the most part, but objectively worse than the previous two seasons. I actually hope we go back to the slightly more episodic style of the first series...

Me neither, I wouldn't have noticed had it not been the premise for an entire episode earlier in the season.

Plus the way the villain explains the plot to the heroes. I was half expecting him to say "and I would have got away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids"

there are people subscribing to apple tv? do they all stare at the menu waiting for the one day a year they get new content?
I used to think the same, but honestly have another look. Some of the best content this year looks to be coming from Apple and they have spent ALL the money on the upcoming shows. On talent as well, not special effects.

Plus it's a but of a bargain compared to the others.

Watched it last night, it was ok. Thinking back to some of the other season finales we've had it was pretty lightweight which I guess sums up the whole season. Seems to have just set up the next one with him getting his little place and now working for the Republic.

Don't for one minute thinkGideon is done. As they say unless you see a body they ain't dead.

I don't really understand the puppet thing, he's a species that isn't exactly nimble when fully developed and he's a baby one, of course he moves like that. He had a floating crib and then they gave him a droid to control because he can't move until he's a few hundred years old. I get that it looks odd, but I think for once it is consistent.

The other trend is his learning to use the Force, every time he's developed that ability further it's been a big leap under extreme duress. He walks funny late in the episode because he's using the Force to keep up, he uses the Force to get onto the lights because he knows he can escape, when he can't escape he learns that he can in fact resist an inferno. Who knew! It's a bit jarring, but it does have some semblance of consistency to it I think.

The people who saw him do the same in the final episode of series 1?

That's a fair point. I can't remember that far back, maybe that one was less intense or something.

But aren't some of those people on a galactic black list now cause they liked the orange president or something?

The infinite jet pack fuel thing was pretty jarring, particularly as we had pretty much an entire episode (and character arc) built around the fact that back on their previous planet they aren't able to carry enough fuel to manage an ongoing situation.

Stan Lee had a good answer for all of this why / how / who would win stuff;

It happens because the plot needs it to, obviously. Don’t overthink it. It’s Star Wars - you know, the one with space wizards. It’s not the Expanse… biggrin

That article is such a load of twaddle based purely on guesswork after the finale.

"Oh, these characters are likely to be back because they weren't killed off. These others probably won't be back because they WERE killed off, but never say never eh. And it'll probably be on Disney+."

hehe
