They finished the season off ok and set up S4 nicely. Or not. The option is there. In some ways the last ep was better than most of the season.

Have those that were convinced that the evil mouse was going to kill off Din and make Bo-Katan the new Mandolorian stopped frothing yet? smile

The jet pack thing, they obviously have the right amount of fuel for the plot. Plus this is the Star Wars universe, physics doesn’t quite work the same way as it does in ours. Thus the trip to low orbit takes less fuel than chasing a big bird. It could also be explained by being not so much that the jet packs couldn’t hold enough fuel bur that the Death Watch faction, the Armours one, didn’t have that much fuel on hand, living in a cave and all that, while the Night Owls have full access to spaceships had all the fuel they needed.

Overall a great episode.

It happens because the plot needs it to, obviously. Don’t overthink it. It’s Star Wars - you know, the one with space wizards. It’s not the Expanse… biggrin

the finale was a fitting end to the series, it's just a shame about the Jack Black episode.

Jeez - it happens in almost all sci fi movies and series (lets invert the main deflector sir......) - star wars is no exception - i mean just look at how they shoe-horned in Lukes lightsaber in the sequels - the new thing in the Last Jedi about lightspeed fuel (despite the Millenium falcon seemingly freely zipping in and out all the time - could it have not helped everyone escape, bring fuel to the ships, transfer people from one ship to another etc etc ) --- oh and the biggie from The Last Jedi, showing us all that actually that anything can be destroyed by just engaging hyperspeed at a another ship - makes all those sacrifices from the previous films totally redundant?....ah but we need to do it in THIS movie because we need a big sacrifice moment - "excuse me admiral hondo , cant c3p0 just pilot this ship instead............" "shut the fk up , i want to die a hero....."

anybody else not also asking the question - seeing as Luke came and saved them before, why not call him up now ? how is discovering a resurgent Empire and the cloning using jedi blood and creation of special "dark troopers" not worthy of any new Republic or Jedi involvement - does Luke not "sense all this" - perhaps its because Han and Leia are too busy making Kylo? perhaps its because the plot demands it...................

S3 has been a total let down for me - and as much as i want to continue to love star wars universe, its dilution and constant need to fill the paper cracks of plot holes from the sequels is wearing a bit thin, as is the "the empire has so many ships and troops yet a plucky band of rebels always win due to tactics......." it was ok in the originals, it was not touched on the prequels, it was regurgitated in the sequels, and now its a weekly thing thats ending up a little boring....

S1/S2 Mando (despite some dire episodes) and Andor for me is where the balance should be for me .................

they need to realise that the sequels cannot be fixed, the first one was ok, a whimsical sci fi romp that gave us nostalgia and new characters, but they then flogged that horse for 2 more films with no real direction or thought about trampling on or copying the past story and now still flogging it to the detriment of The Mandalorian............ move on Disney - be brave - leave the past behind as Kylo said....

I think it follows on from the previous brain out "that'll do for an older Star Wars fan" - it works enough for me to be enjoyable.

A great scene, actually enhanced with Grogu using the force to push the guards over and move their weapons.

Watchable enough but somehow not as satisfying as it should have been, given all the action and battle scenes.

Definitely a step down this season, from the first two.

I liked it.

Jetpack fuel aside the battle was good, and some of the shots were done very well, along with the tag teaming of the guards by Grogs and Din.

I'm also glad they did it on their own even though the title suggested something else.

The issue they are going to have is nothing would top the finale of season 2 with Luke, maybe Bo riding in on the Mythosaur with the DS to save the day?.

It was a safe way to finish it off in case the 4th season didn't go ahead but I was happy with it.
