I think the opinion on these bits is 50/50, the puddlejumpers on here think it is funny, the older posters, like me curmudgeon never!, find them boring and childish, thank god for fast forward.

Everyone to their own smile

Probably easier (and far less expensive) just to store it away / look at it based on the back story of that one. Plus we don't know what other things have may happened for him in the time since he got the car back.

I can sympathise as when i had health issues back in 2010 i effectively stored my Focus RS away and just left it there for 9 years as it was easier / cheaper given other things that were going on. I knew it was there and could go and look at it / do stuff if i wanted to but it was easier not to think too much about it. I got it back on the road in 2019 and was looking forward to using it again the next year and then Covid came and fked everything at which point it was easier to leave it in storage rather than spending ££££ on something not being used. In about a month's time ill get to repeat the process from 2019 all over again.

Although given the current market i'd imagine that Mondeo is now far from an inexpensive car to insure for road use given the modifications including the roll cage, body, engine build, etc - and i say that as the owner of said reasonably heavily modified Focus RS currently finding out just how expensive it is to get it insured for the road this year vs last.

Adam.

77 years old and still here not like some of my friends but still able to climb a ladder and repair a roof, unfortunately not able to kneel anymore to restore classic cars, “these hips were not made for walking”, sorry Nancysmile

What is meant by 'the puddlejumpers'? In my terminology it's a aircraft that flies between islands and I'm sure that's not what's meant.

You need to read “the right stuff” about Chuck Yeager, term used by him on young tyro pilots.

Oh... I doubt there's a lot of young tyro pilots watching Car SOS and commenting on Pistonheads though hehe

Is it just me who thinks that it doesn't look that good?

I guess the bloke they did it for likes it? or maybe not as it's for sale.

No ryland agree with you, decals on bonnet detract from look. What would insurance company have to say about modifications? ie decals on bonnet

£23K eek I know classic Ford's have shot up in price but, even given the SOS treatment and the modifications, that still seems more than expected.

Respect the history and story but I would have said it is worth about half that.
