This should link up with the What Britain Does Well thread in The Lounge. I'd pay the licence fee just for Radio 4, BBC4 and Test Match Special.

I'm more than happy to pay the licence fee for the 5 TV channels, Sport, includiong 6 Nations Rugby and the up and coming Olympics in HD. I use the website news daily for news, radio 6 and Test Match Special.

What tops it all off for me is there are no adverts. I'm happy to pay my £140 a year just for that.

That is one of the bonuses for me too. Sadly the Beeb has started stuffing announcements in between programs and on the credits at the end as well...hence with shows like Miranda play credits over action to prevent that kind of chicanery. I remember the Blackadder fella lamenting that you would never get the unique ending songs from Blackadder today. Even so, they are not as bad as other channels, who wish to implant their logo over the screen, run what’s next on the bottom, and even talk over the bloody show before it's finished
