Normally I love these kinds of shows and like Lost I thought I would stick with it. I grew to love Lost but I cant get the hang of this show. I am trying to work out what the 'hook' is, maybe they are trying to be too clever, but I am a bit bored of it now, have given up.
Am going to stick to Walking Dead, Dominion etc

"The show’s co-creator Tom Perrotta, who wrote the novel the show is based on, said that the mysterious event which forms the show’s premise would never be solved. The Leftovers was always going to be a show about exploring the aftermath, but who wants to stew in a jacuzzi of suffering, week after week, without any forward momentum?"
Sounds like The Walking Dead minis the cool Zombie stuff. :Hehe:

Watched episode 10 last night and was a bit underwhelmed.
Agree entirely.I've just finished series 1 and won't be back for series 2.
As someone has already remarked it does lack "forward momentum" and if the writers are saying you will NEVER get a resolution to what happened to the 10% then the story lines as seen don't have enough going for them to warrant perhaps (@ say 4 series of 10 episodes at 50 mins per episode) 33+ hours of my life.
It's a great show - I thought it dragged a lot in the first few episodes but really picked up and the new season is excellent, they just completely changed the setting but kept most of the core characters and it has worked a treat. Love the new credits/theme song too.
At least they've been upfront about there never going to be an explanation of the disappearance, but I do hope they give us a little more to go on with the other weird goings on. They always seem to present a rational explanation whilst hinting strongly at the supernatural which is a bit annoying. Stop sitting on the fence, writers!

I think I will wait until the series has ended completely before deciding to watch it or not.
I have invested way too much time in past US TV shows that started so well but ended up going nowhere, like Lost, for example..
Yes, Lost .. fantastic show until about the last 2 episodes when it all became painfully evident that there wasn't some sort of amazing overall explanation for all the weirdness and just a couple of cop-out, half-baked attempts to clear things up. I don't think anything else in TV/film drama has ever managed to actually anger me so much after putting all that time in... it's probably how people felt about 'The Prisoner' when it finished.I have invested way too much time in past US TV shows that started so well but ended up going nowhere, like Lost, for example..
I'd blame it for the subsequent failure of 'The Event' and 'Flash Forward' too (both only lasted for a single season but were supposed to run for many years) - I think it put a lot of viewers off even getting into 'mystery' shows that were supposed to run over a long period of time.
