Tombstone is far superior IMO.
Wyatt Earp's life is quite fascinating but only from the point where he meets Doc Holliday really. Before that, he seems to wander somewhat aimlessly through life (in retrospect, and from a story-teller's perspective - I'm sure it didn't seem that way to him). In this regard, the film "Tombstone" concentrates on a very short and turbulent period of his life, which makes for a good 2-hour film but misses out some of the relationships with the Mastersons (for example) who are quite interesting in their own right.Tombstone is far superior IMO.
The "Wyatt Earp" film is far deeper, and more realistic/less cartoonish than "Tombstone", and is my favourite of the pair but only once it passes the buffalo hunting act.
Another copycat film (and sticking with westerns) must be "Pale Rider". Has elements of the supernatural, taken from another Eastwood film "High Plains Drifter" but in its portrayal of the good guy against the bad guy, all the while being viewed from the perspective of the (worshipping) child, "Pale Rider" surely copies "Shane" starring Alan Ladd.
This isn't about remakes, watch the video in the OP, it's more about synchronacity or group think, or whatever the heck happens in Hollywood at certain times. 
Although I often wondered at the similarities between HPD and Pale Rider, and the latter is also supernatural apparently, only less obvious.

The Raid and Dredd. Gareth Evans only knew about Dredd while The Raid was being made...

Gareth Evans: Yes. It was weird, because, while we were in post on The Raid, I was telling a friend what the story was about – a bunch of guys storming a building. And he said, that’s like the new Judge Dredd movie. And I said, “What?”
He sent me a link that explained the story, and I said, “Oh God, we have to get this released very, very soon.” [Laughs]"
